A visit to Malaysia’s National Zoo (Zoo Negara in Malay) on June 2, 2007.
It was our king’s birthday and a public holiday; my sister (with hubby and kids) from Penang took the chance to visit us in Kuala Lumpur… and the zoo seemed like the perfect place for family outing, especially with a bunch of little kids.
Can’t remember when my prior trip to Zoo Negara was… used to visit the zoo quite often when I was a kid, but it must be more than a decade ago since my last visit before this trip…

To be frank, I was quite surprised that the zoo was in good condition… I always thought that it was poorly managed. It’s probably still far from being world class, but it’s good enough to provide a decent experience for visitors.
