4.30am in the morning… just completed a phone interview with Korean superstar Rain, who is in Los Angeles to promote his Hollywood debut movie, the “Speed Racer”.
The interview was arranged by Warner Brothers. I somehow thought that it was going to be a conference call alongside other medias, but it turned out to be an exclusive interview… luckily I made enough preparation to fully utilise the 8 minutes.
I know lots of you are eager to hear what Rain has said during the interview, but you will have to wait until Monday to read the whole story (as requested by Warner Bros).
To be frank I feel a bit gay right now… never thought that I would be so excited talking to a guy… my heart is still beating in joyous mode and would probably last that way for another few good hours.
Thanks to Warner Bros for the arrangement, and thanks to Rain for accepting the interview. My female friends are going to be really jealous about this :)
Conveyor belt sushi (回転寿司, kaitenzushi) celebrates its 50th anniversary on April 2008. Yoshiaki Shiraishi (1914-2001) opened the first conveyor belt sushi Mawaru Genroku Sushi in Osaka in 1958.
The concept has revolutionised the Japanese food culture, with thousands of conveyor belt sushi restaurants operating around the world.
Some might argue that the kaitenzushi is not of the highest quality, which is probably true… but it allows the consumers to have sushi at much cheaper price, and that’s probably why these restaurants are so popular. Most of the people who visit these places are aware of the flaw anyway.
Btw, the kaitenzushi also has a cute name in Japan… the kuru kuru sushi (くるくる寿司, literally sushi-go-around). The Australians are more direct with the name though, by simply calling it the train sushi.
“Polyrhythm” (ポリリズム) is Japanese pop group Perfume’s fifth major single, and is included in their 2nd second album “Game”, which was released on April 16.
Game has hit the #1 sport on Oricon chart last week; Perfume is only the second technopop group to top the chart. [Tokyograph]
Music video of Polyrhythm… a bit odd, but I like it…
Danica Patrick won her first IndyCar Series race at Twin Ring Motegi in the Indy Japan 300 on April 20 and became the first female winner in IndyCar history.
Danica made her IndyCar debut in 2005 and became Rookie of the Year with some good performances. Her participation in the sport traditionally dominated by men has created a lot of buzz for motor racing fans, and the fact that she looks pretty good too has made her one of the most talk-about racing stars.
Danica’s racing career isn’t all smooth though; despite an eye-catching debut season, Danica has failed to win a single race for almost three years, and this had led to some teasing and criticism. With this Japan victory she could finally silence some critics, and hopefully this won’t be her last.
Korean actress Park Eun-hye, famous for her role in drama “Daejanggeum”, is getting married to an entrepreneur on April 27 at Shilla Hotel, Seoul.
The 30-year-old actress has recently shared some of her wedding photos with the public; she looks so lovely in her wedding gown. Some of her fans are complaining though, that they want to see the bridegroom as well :)
Korean female pop group Jewelry donned in pinkish cheerleading uniforms while filming their latest music video for “Everybody Shhh!” on April 21. The girls are red hot at the moment, dominating Korean music charts with hit song “One More Time”.
Chinese starlet Isabella Leong is retaliating against her agency, the Emperor Entertainment Group (EEG), by suing the company for unfair contract terms.
