The inaugural Anime Festival Asia (AFA) was held last weekend (Nov 22-23) at Suntec International Convention and Exhibition Centre in Singapore. Was planning to travel south for the event but couldn’t make it; had to attend a wedding dinner in the northern Ipoh city instead.
Besides some minor hiccups, AFA08 seems to be a successful one. Sharing some pictures by Singaporean blogger Parka [complete Flickr set with 200+ photos]…

Oppai ga Ippai (おっぱいがいっぱい), literally ‘full of breast’ in Japanese, is a popular children song in Japan (at least in the 80s), singing praise to mama’s breast (milk).
One of the wackiest music videos I’ve ever seen; call me an idiot, but I laughed from the beginning till the end… couldn’t resist, it’s just too funny, cute and weird.

At least 130 people were killed in a series of synchronised attacks across India’s commercial capital of Mumbai since Wednesday night (Nov 26).

Militants armed with machine-guns and grenades attacked the iconic Taj Mahal Hotel and Oberoi Trident Hotel, as well as the main train station, two hospitals and several other locations. The situation seems to be under control on Friday evening, but the city is still on high alert.
A group calling itself the “Deccan Mujahedeen” claimed responsibility for the attacks, but some Indian officials are pointing fingers at neighbouring Pakistan instead.
Terrorist attacks have occurred frequently in India in recent years; statistics from the Interior Ministry show that a total of 5,011 people were killed between 2002 and 2007. Check this link for some of the major attacks since 2007.

Flickr user Vintage Lulu is sharing her collection of Geisha postcards from late 19th and early 20th century; some of the postcards are reproduction and purchased in Japan while others original period pieces acquired in the UK… [via Neatorama]
I am not sure if geisha is the right word to describe the postcards though… most of those ladies look like ordinary people (including some westerners) wearing traditional Japanese kimonos instead of real geishas. The pics are pretty neat nonetheless.
