“The Forbidden Kingdom”, starring action superstars Jet Li and Jackie Chan, has topped the North American box office over the weekend.
The movie managed to haul in USD20.9 million in ticket sales (according to studio estimates) from Friday to Sunday in US and Canadian theaters.

i watched the movie, i think its not bad. i like the bad characters more than the main characters, li bing bing looks cool, and the bad king does well too. jet li and jackie chan have good chemistry. liu yi fei looks cute, but she doesn’t have any good action, not like bing bing. i don’t like the western guy, it will be nice if the movie is just asians, that white guy looks odd in the settings.
The fact is that Not all Asians are good at martial arts. I have something to say about the film itself.It’s said that all characters in the movierefer to lots of other Chinese movies or legends, and I believe the movie will seem much funnier to us if we know more about the China and its people. On the other hand, it’s really a harmless outlets for the impulses repressed in the hearts of about 13-year-old boys whose parents won’t let them rent Once Upon a Time in China or the Kill Bill movies.
Can you believe it! I’m watching The Forbidden kingdom on my iPodnow! I rushed into the theater the day before yesterday, as if fighting for a ticket to “beat” Jet lee and Jackie Chan who rule the box office.
Luckily, I download the avi video of this movie, and ripg the funny and exciting clips onto my ipod, to make sure I can enjoy it whenever I can on the go.

kyon… the movie is obviously targeting the western market; Michael Angarano is in the movie to fulfill their fantasy and to attract the crowd… it’s all about business (and $).
