Hong Kong star Gillian Chung might be starring alongside Taiwanese actor Ethan Ruan and actress Cheryl Yang in a Taiwanese idol drama.
Gillian is struggling to make her comeback after the infamous Edison Chen scandal… her Hollywood venture didn’t work well as she only managed a three-second cameo; while her appearance in the highly anticipated Chinese movie “Mei Lanfang” is wiped out altogether.
It’s reported that EEG (Gillian’s agency) is making compromises to have Gillian in the idol drama, which she will take on the supporting female role instead of the main lead.
The arrangement has not been finalised though; despite willing to take a pay cut… EEG’s desired pay is ironically the highest among the cast. The drama producers are still in negotiation with EEG and are positive that they could reach an agreement.
Update – the parties involved couldn’t reach a final agreement; Gillian won’t be appearing in the drama. Young actress Yang Ya Zhu is taking the role instead.

kind of hard to believe that gillian’s gonna star in a taiwan idol drama.
i guess eeg’s trying their hardest to get her back to work, but they don’t know exactly what’s the best way.
i wonder if gillian really wants to remain being an entertainer, or if it’s just eeg that won’t give up, since they spent so much effort to make twins popular.
i think the scandal’s gonna haunt gillian for probably the rest of her life though.
not that i’m being overly-negative, but i think people (esp hk people) still have a feeling that gillian “tricked” them with her fragile and innocent image from before.
so knowing that she’s gonna be on screen again, people would still think badly of her no matter how well she performs.
not sure if time is the problem here, but when the name gillian chung is mentioned, people still immediately think back to the scandal.
The scandal is something that will never go away… it’s something that she has to live with unfortunately.
It’s not the end though… take example of some porn stars that become established artists these days; their mainstream success has already overshadowed what they did when they were young. Their past won’t be forgotten altogether, but people are paying more attention to what they are doing now rather than what they did.

but i guess it’s a bit different in gillian’s case, as she started out as a singer and got really famous and popular, and then, the scandal happened.
hopefully, she still has some loyal fans out there to support her.
the scandal was baaaaaaad but if she really wants to stay in entertainment and she can withstand all this backlash…she’ll be able to come back later when other big scandals come up and overshadow hers. although i don’t know what kind of scandal can be bigger! :) i think ppl will eventually forget or at least won’t care about it as much. but she won’t get back that level of popularity she had…i don’t know how it’s like in hk but i almost feel like she’s been dropped down to B-list status. i sure can’t watch her without being reminded of her and edison!…ewww! :P and i hope she doesn’t get a lead role opposite ethan ruan…he’s just so frickin cute and i won’t be able to stomach watching him with her! sorry, my girl fandom is showing…. :P

i do feel bad for the girls in that their most intimate moments (and body parts) were exposed for the whole world to see…how embarassing! but my sympathies only goes that far b/c they were just stupid for letting themselves be filmed and photographed. i mean, it’s bad enough when a regular person does it but they were up and coming celebrities! and from the few photos my friend showed me (i only got as far as just the more innocent pics, i couldn’t continue looking at the rest b/c i was so grossed out)…the girls looked like they were quite enjoying themselves too! ew, gross…sorry, i just had a flashback..and i’m not even that much of a prude! lol…so yea, i think edison’s the biggest a**hole and perv but can’t put all the blame him.

well, some girls can do anything for love, or when they’re in love.
it may seem too extreme and dumb to some people, but it’s just about an individual’s viewpoint and values.
i don’t think there’s anything wrong with the girls showing enjoyment in the photos. why can’t girls enjoy sex? it’s not a right only for men.
about edison, i heard he’s in america or canada now. if not, then probably doing some movie that’s lower budget. maybe he could even be planning and preparing himself for a big comeback! haha.
bb…i think you misunderstood me. my comment didn’t have anything to do with enjoying sex. when i said the girls seemed to enjoy it too…i meant that they didn’t look like they were being forced to be photographed or filmed. so they knew exactly what they were getting into. i can totally relate to doing anything for love or for your loved ones but even i know that if i’m going to be photographed or filmed…i better be the one who keeps all the files! :P i might sound judgemental but i only judge others by the same standards i judge myself. :)
Lots of young peeps these days seem to enjoy taking those love photos and videos… it’s becoming a trend despite various risks. The least that they could do is to make sure that the files are safe and secure… or else the damage could be pretty nasty.

2009 the New Year would be nice if twins sing in Cantonese again. They sing really very good together. It be a good come back. Last year Twins last album was in mandarin in 2008 which would really sound great in cantonese language. Twins Fans would appreciate if they sings in Cantonese version and later project if they ever continue together, because after the sixth years album release couple year ago. Twins Fans like the Twins group to continue. Not the End. Music was what they started from, which made them into stars. Good songs lyrics could cheer up and erase the bad moment. Last year was sad for everyone in the world. Including the small incident Twins encounter. It not that big of a problem. Gillian Chung , and Charlene Choi the Twins group of EEG music can gain back popularity with young fans. Fans of Twins always love to listen to Music. Ho Hoo Tan album Summer Rain the song. Really relaxing the mine from a hard day. Great work there.
