kyon… there is plenty of rooms to debate about it. People are making huge money from movies these days… the money will have to get into the pocket of somebody, be it the stars or the boss of various movie studios.

My take is that the stars are really overpaid when the movies are not making a decent profit, which does happen occasionally.

yp… the worst = the most overpaid. The list is based on return on investment for the movie studios comparing to how much the stars were paid.

We have to figure in DVD releases, royalties, sponsorship, and overall general comercial appeal and hot item appeal as well into the equation. Nicole has made alot of people money over the years she has been doing movies I suspect.
It only makes sense anyway, if she’s able to command such a high salary then some people in the business definitly must believe in her value.

I get your point YeinJee. However, I think long term the studios and producers probably have made alot more money on Nicole than they’ve lost as compared with some other lower paid actors. JMO.

Besides, the stats counted only the last three movies… and Nicole has one huge flop with “The Invasion” which could easily be one of the worst movies of the year.

She’s a good actress though, no doubt about that… just that she might have made some poor movie choices recently.

Just an example (ignoring other costs)…

If Vince Vaughn is getting paid $5 million and his movie makes $50m. The gross income is 10x what Vince Vaughn is paid for.

If Nicole is getting paid $20 and her movie makes $80m. The gross income is 4x what Nicole is paid for despite the fact that her movie is actually making more money than Vince’s movie.

It depends on what criteria (percentage or actual money etc) that was used to determine the list.

I dissagree with Kidman being on the overpaid list. There are ALOT of other actors/actresses that are overpaid compared to her. Fact is, she’s a pretty darn good actress and she’s a money maker for the studios in most cases.
