A Japanese man has recently started an online petition to urge the government to legalise marriage with a two-dimensional (i.e. anime and comics) character… more than 2400 netizens have signed the petition so far.
The fella states that he is no longer interested with real three dimensional world, but wants to become an inhabitant of a two-dimensional world. He reckons though, that it’s impossible to achieve his dream with present day technology… thus thinking of the possibility to legalise marriage with a two-dimensional character instead.
He also said that he would like to marry Asahina Mikuru (pic) from popular Japanese anime/manga “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya” [via Gaijinheart]

i am a huge anime fan, but this is stupid, and sad at the same time. its pity that people can’t separate real world and fantasy, and i am worry for what the man is thinking… no longer interested with real three dimensional world’… it sounds like a sign of intent for suicide.
i hope people can give encouragement to him to live the real life to the fullest and stop overfantasizing. signing the petition is not going to help but will make him fall further into the fantasy.
i’ve heard weird and stupid things over the years but never something like this. he should try to find a woman that has the same characteristics as the anime character.

first of all, how could you marry someone just by your personal preference?
if this becomes legalized, what if someone else wants to marry that same anime character?
who has the right to “claim” an anime character to him/herself?
what if you don’t like that character later? are you gonna get a divorce?
what if you figured you are interested in 3d humans again? are you gonna have an affair?
anime characters are fictional, and can be liked by the whole world. imagine a normal anime fan…wouldn’t he/she feel weird if they knew the anime character that they like is married to a human being?
it just gets so complicated.
i doubt the petition would help this dude.
he needs to get real and face reality.

Reminds me of some Japanese guy I saw a report about not long ago that has a bunch of life size girlie dolls in his house that he sleeps with eats with and whatever else because he says their easier to get along with and don’t argue and start fights like real women??? :P

I marry my computer if i had the chance but i am not going that far to doing so since i would easly marry a car,boat,airplane, or a dog or cat any thing that can show love and not a animated girl, i would marry my computer if i build it my self and i would name it and stuff later i would cheat on my computer with another computer and look into the computer see all her parts :p
The wedding will definitely fail because when mikuru is asked “Do you take this man to be your lawfully wedded husband?” She’ll say: “That’s Classified”
it is possible to Marry her if they did this gaved that guy a virutal version of her and stuff or build a robot version of her that can happen other wise he has to marry a computer version of his woman and she would be p off if he cheated on her with another computer… a Robot is For ever and who marry a computer Person any ways?
