The list is not complete obviously… and I am not sure how they get the average. If they include those unemployed as well, it would even out that the working class might work longer than 6.5 hours on average (need to count in weekends too).

Ya, Philippines have been in a slump for the past two decades. High populations but stagnant economics… corruption probably plays a great part. I am having similar concerns with Malaysia too, we are not doing too well for the past few years… but I guess we are still relatively peaceful here.

maybe next time Forbes will include the Philippines in the list.. i doubt if it was included…6 and half hours of work is a bit short compared to the people who work here…average hour of work is 8 hours..the longest is 12 hours! more of course if you OT…in my opinion, filipinos are more hardworking but you all know where the hardwork ends…the governent…corruption has been and will be forever stuck in our country…if not for the corrupt people…Philippines would be a much nicer place to live in…

howshouse… you are right on the decision making. With exceptions to those newcomers, most artists do have the choice to work as hard (or as leisure) as they want. I guess the whole culture is there that people should work hard… perhaps to an extend that people would be discriminated if they don’t.

looks like we’ve derailed from the initial topic. well, back to that-

anonymous is right to say that korean showbiz is moving at an incredibly fast pace. many of its stars and starlets are being overworked, exhausted, and really worked like a dog. albeit the instant riches and rewards, is it worth paying for your life when you see your marketers and agents sit back and reap rewards also, but you being the one who risks your life and limb?

having said that, at the end of the day, the decision is the individuals… though it would be hard not to conform is success is the ambition

im glad that kim jang hoon is ok, he is a good man, very supportive to charity work. i read from somewhere that this concert is also a chartiy concert too.

average 6.5 hours daily doesn’t sound a lot to me. malaysians and singaporeans are working around that hours too…. or is it asians overall are working too hard haha!!??
