Korean actress Lee Ji-ah was rush to the hospital on Friday (Aug 1) while filming a water scene for “Beethoven Virus” in Gyeonggi-do when she suddenly complained of breathing difficulties. She is now discharged and recuperates at home.
Initial diagnosis showed that she might have developed hypothermia and meningitis, which was probably due to her being submerged in the chilly water for almost 20 hours in the past two days shooting the promotional posters and a underwater scene for the drama. [via Coolsmurf]
Ji-ah, have some good rest and get well soon.

ai, korea agencies really don’t know how to take care of their artists, this stuff happens almost every month.
get well soon ji-ah, good to hear that she is making a drama again.
Musicians, artists, actors etc are basically run ragged and worked to death by their agencies. Plus, it’s partly the asian work ethic at work here also. They haven’t learned yet because they’re still too caught up in all the glory and glitz of a fast growing entertainment industry. Artists are just comododies to them right now…not human beings with limits.
20 hours?! that’s crazy.
poor girl…
