Pretty awsome pictures. Never seen too many vintage photos of Japanese Geishas. And I’ve NEVER seen bathing suit pictures of them, lol.

Yeah, Japanese women are such tiny little beings and some of them do have child-like looks. I’ts just the way some of them look…..Genetics

Well, it’s a century old era; lots of the cultures and lifestyle were different back then, the ladies in the photo could be having child-look as cole mentioned, but could be really young on the other hand… back in the old days it’s not uncommon for teenagers to get married at young age (13, 14 etc) and it’s certainly not surprising that they were involved in things and jobs that look a bit odd these days.

I love old photos like this.
Well in those days girls would become apprentice geisha when they were about 11-12 and full fledged geisha when they were about 16-17.
For more info about geisha there is a great website:

The girl holding the Lobster by it’s antennai really caught my eye, lol. That sort of humorous pose during a time when photo subjects took a more serious tone just seems ahead of it’s time and amusingly out of place.

That lobster was almost as big as she was. :)

    that… lobster… is… small… but the pic is cute :)
