Gotta admit the guy is cut up nicely.

Saw the Speed Racer flick last night. Actiually a pretty good movie.

  3. bb on May 10th, 2008 at 12:17pm

wow, his skin is pretty white!
i always thought that rain had a baby face and it doesn’t really match his height.
but anyhow, he’s uber cute =]

  4. Yein Jee on May 10th, 2008 at 2:06pm

Ya, he looks pretty fit here… a body that girls would love and that guys would envy.

  5. choo on May 10th, 2008 at 6:53pm

I was actually worried that he may have the muscles like the “300″ type since his trainors were the trainors for that movie, but it looks like it’s northing like that.

    I love it. Just right.

  6. Yein Jee on May 10th, 2008 at 10:07pm

Agree choo… Rain looks more normal whereas the 300 Spartans are too bulked up that it’s almost unreal.

  7. taejo on May 11th, 2008 at 4:38am

he can be a character on Pale Force on Conan. His muscles are all fine, but his face is like a woman. It’s very disturbing seeing those pecs along with his face in one take.

  8. cool on May 11th, 2008 at 6:11am

He does NOT look at a woman at all, just his pony tail that’s playing a trick on your eyes!!!

Yummy! Rain versus Rick Yune is going to be a great match up. I’m already there.

Speed Racer on IMAX was a fun ride and Rain was a standout in a pivotal part. The Wachowskis did what they set out to do–make a colorful high-octane entertainment you could take your kids to and have something cool to talk about afterwards. Our Sunday afternoon audience of families, couples, and fan boys loved it.

I would rather see Rain vs Russell Wong :) I hope it’s a good story; the cast won’t matter if the script is lousy to begin with.

Ya, Speed Racer is better than I thought. It’s a bit too colourful for me, but it’s not a bad movie overall. A bit surprise with Rain’s appearances too… his role is not as minor as I thought.

  13. sudsy on May 14th, 2008 at 3:52am

Yeah, Russell is cool and so is Collin Chou, but from what hints we have about Ninja Assassin they’re probably too old for the script. I guess I’m thinking that of the handful of Asian/Asian American actors who are recognizable in the U.S., most are getting long in the tooth. I want to see young dudes up there who can kick ass AND get the girl.

Megastars like Jet Li and Jackie Chan are great but we really need a new generation of Asian guys who can build an audience and bring folks to the box office like them. From what I’ve seen of the different stuff he’s done, Rain has the potential to be one of those guys. He’s 25 and has the talent and drive. I agree with you about the script though. If it sucks, then it’s back to square one.

Ya, the famous Asian stars (males in particular) are approaching 40s and 50s, it’s good to see some new blood like Rain coming in… hopefully can see a few more.

  15. yellowpaint94 on May 14th, 2008 at 8:58pm

yea.. i actually just found it to be in the movie house!, maybe i was out-dated bout the movies haha…but recently i heard in the news that he’ll be in up coming flick KUNG FU PANDA…

i think he’ll be part of the soundtrack together with some asian artists also…
Good thing Asians are being more recognizable both in acting and singing!!

  16. Yein Jee on May 15th, 2008 at 9:37am

Well, Kungfu Panda is an anime… Rain will be voicing the Korean version if not mistaken, whereas Jackie Chan is going to voice the English version.

There’s a chinese actor, forget his name. He was in a real short role in The Dark Knight. He played that Asian banker’s bodyguard while they were in Hong Kong. Anyway, he’s a pretty good actor and was in the live action movie of Initial D. Played the guy racing the 2nd gen Mazda RX-7. he’d be a good up and coming Asian actor for Hollywood, provided they give him a chance.
