Coffee gets hotter in America. Drive-through coffee stands with bikini clad baristas are making waves in some American cities for the past year or two…

The concept is going to get some backslash for sure. Belfare, Washington, is the first township barring these sexpresso’s stands from business… I guess it’s just a matter of time before other places following their suit.

It’s probably not a problem if one or two coffee stands are getting sexier, but it’s obviously inappropriate when it’s becoming a trend. Imagine having a sexpresso stand at every corner of the streets… that would be like heaven kinda disturbing.

I have to be honest though… if I’m in US, I won’t mind at all to visit one of these coffee stands; and I could become a regular customer if their coffee doesn’t sux. Sex sells… and it almost never failed.

It’s kind of ironic really. For all the decades now that women have been whining about “sexploitation” of women, if just gets more and more common place and accepted as the years go by. Hooters, Twin Peaks, and now bikini baristas. ….and honestly, the girls seem to gravitate towards it anyway. They don’t mind showing it for the most part. A paying job is a paying job right?!

I don’t mind something like theses bikini barista’s. but I personally think that it should be kept indoors for the mere fact that there ARE kids walking around.

Hooters and places like that are inside where adults can go without their kids if they so choose. Outdooors like that you never know when you’ll accidently come across one of these stands and you would rather that your kids had not seen it. It just doesn’t show much respect for the families walking around out there.

I don’t really appreciate the use of the word “whining” in this context. Exploitation is always *wrong*, it doesn’t matter if it’s done to women, men or children. If you’re someone who enjoys a job like this, sure go ahead and do it. As long as you like what you do and respect the views of others.

I do not condone these type of establishments, but I’d demand one with sexy men too ;)

Well, you kinda missed my point. I put the word “sexploitation” in quotes for that reason. Some women over the years have called anything that shows off a woman’s body “sexploitation” even if it’s just girls working or serving drinks scantily clothed in piblic (short of being porn or nudity) for the purpose of titlation of men to get them to spend their money, when in fact alot of those instances have been women themselves choosing to exibit themselves….when they didn’t really have to. And yet, if it’s found that the men around are deriving pleasure from looking, then all of a sudden it’s “sexploitation”. That’s the “whing I’m talking about. It’s really unjustified. You have to question then, who’s really exploiting who?????

In other words, my reference to “whining” does not include the complaints about the “REAL sexploitaion such as forced prostitution and slavery. (which by the way many prostitution rings and sex slavery outfits have been found to be owned and run by women), But rather it’s in reference to people who gripe that things like this coffee stand or places like hooters etc are sexploitation. It’s just not the case if those girls are using their bodies of their own free will to get guys to fork out the bucks in their pocket book for burgers or coffee and and possibly an extra tip whereas those guys probably would otherwise not buy their coffee.
People need to realize the difference.

“I do not condone these type of establishments, but I’d demand one with sexy men too ;”

That in itself is a contradiction. And is exactly what I’m talking about. Alot of things that women have not condoned over the years that men enjoy, are now ‘demanded’ by women. If women want to do the same things that they’ve complain about and/or “whine” about men doing, then it’s safe to say they shouldn’t have been complaining about it to begin with.

Is it not only fair to have both sexes enjoy these new “fruits” of civilisation then?

  6. #6. cole on October 28th, 2008

Well it’s fair if both want the same thing….but fact is both don’t always want the same thing. Most women don’t even really care to do half the things that men involve themselves in or do. They just resent that men are enjoying something for themselves among themselves and if it doesn’t interest them, then something has to be done to stop it. Been that way throughout history. Private clubs, golf courses, whatever..anything that men enjoy or have in common. So then the women decide that they’ll come up with their own versions of the same things, not so much because they actually ever were interested in doing those things in the first place but rather out of some silly idea that they are gonna show those men and get back at them and make things “equal”…….

By the way, these “fruits” of civilization aren’t exactly new. :P

Bottom line is… no people should be forced (or tricked, manipulated etc) to do things that they don’t want to do.

I enjoy seeing a hot guy naked *period* Not because (most) man enjoy seeing a hot girl naked.

I do feel like you’ve restarted the age-old discussion between men and women a bit Yein Jee!

Men, you can’t live with them, you can’t live without them ;)

It’s not restarted… the age old discussion has never been ended at the first place, and I guess it won’t be ending anytime soon :p
