Korean pop group SNSD received some silent treatment at the Dream Concert on June 7, as fans from other pop groups had joined forces to boycott the girls by turning off their light sticks during their performances.
[update] Embedded a new video. Apparently it’s not a “silence” protest; the audiences were actually shouting for “Wonder Girls” (another pop group) during SNSD’s show. Nowwwww… THAT’S insulting.
I think the act was pretty immature; SNSD might not be the nicest girls around, but it’s unfair for them to be treated like this. Besides, the reasons for the boycott were pretty lame to begin with.
On side note, I’m rather amazed how the fan groups managed to organise themselves to hold a mass protest of this scale. The country will have a bright future if these folks can put their organisation skills to good use lol.

“Besides, the reasons for the boycott were pretty lame to begin with.”
I agree with you 100%. The writer of the article tries to find reason within and unreasonable argument. It all eventually boiled down to petty mistakes :P
If only they put their organizing skills to better use…..
