Went to Sepang International Circuit this morning with KC to catch a glimpse of the Super GT, a popular Japan based auto racing series.
Today was practise session for the racers… and some practises for me too. It’s a bit challenging for a n00b to take photos of these fast moving vehicles; below are some of the better shots with plenty of rooms for improvements…

Team Gaikokuya – Gaishano Gaikokuya & LMP Porsche – Porsche 996GT3RS

Team Uematsu Nova – Ebbro Uematsu 320R – Vemac RD320R

Hankook KTR – Hankook Porsche – Porsche 911 GT3RSR

Hasemi Motor Sport – YellowHat YMS Tomica GT-R – Nissan GT-R

JLOC – Triple a Murcie RG-1 – Lamborghini MurciĆ©lago R-G1

Apr – Lightning McQueen apr MR-S – Toyota MR-S

Cusco Racing – Cusco Dunlop Subaru Impreza – Subaru Impreza

Team Taisan with Nishizawa – Yunker Power Taisan Porsche – Porsche 911 GT3R

Team Daishin – Daishin Advan Z – Nissan Fairlady Z Type E

nice cars! i remember a move jackie chan make last time about japan race cars, is this the race?
Nice shots from the Super GT Practice.
I guess everyone’s just too far from the track to be bothered about making a trip there. Wanted to go there myself but then too lazy and the weather’s too hot.
Hey, nice pics. But for TOYOTA Team Tsuchiya.. That’s a gold Porsche that says “Yunker”, not a Eclipse Advan SC430 aka Soarer…..
Thanks for the compliments :) To be honest, the photos are just ok; it’s a bit blur, and it looks way too static… it’s car racing, a good photographer should be able to show the motion and dynamic of the speed, whereas the cars were as if not moving in mine. Still needs plenty of improvement obviously.
kyon… oh, I remember that movie too… lots of crash and burns lol. I am not really sure if this is the race though.
Michael… true.
aw… Yunker is the sponsor; it’s an energy drink (brand) from Japan, something like Red Bull in the west.
Show us some girls!!! Isn’t race queens the most famous part of Super GT =)
Great photos! I’m about to leave my house and head for the race tracks myself – it’s race day today!
Anon#5… you sure did your homework… coming soon ;)
Thanks David… hope to see some pics from you too.
No, I meant, you labelled it as the (Lexus) SC430, also known at the Toyota Soarer. But it’s clearly a Porsche!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
aw… ic, pardon me for misunderstanding your previous question.
One thing I understand about Super GT is that their cars are not (required to be) assembled from one single car manufacturer, but could be using parts from different sources. For example they could be using a Porsche body, a Toyota engine and Nissan’s spare parts… it’s probably the case for the Soarer.
[Edited: info could be misleading]
OK. But how come the golden Porsche that’s only labelled “YUNKER”, and supposedly captioned “TOYOTA Team TSUCHIYA – Eclipse Advan SC430″ looks nothing like the photo below:

Which indeed is a Lexus SC430, not a golden Porsche, and has “Eclipse” and “Advan” on it?
Nice photos, but your answer is like my local electronics salesman lar ahahahahaha.
aw… my mistake… just did some research and found the right info. Thanks (and sorry) for going through the trouble to find the proper info… correction made. :)
Nice photos. I was there on Sat and Sun. Got some pictures on my blog too. :)
