The Singapore Flyer, the world’s largest observation wheel, was officially opened on yesterday (April 15) by Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Long.
Located at Marina Bay, the Singapore Flyer comprises a 150-metre-diameter wheel and a total height of 165 metres (equivalent to ~ 42 stories high), which is about 30m taller than the famous London Eye and 5m taller than the previous record holder, The Star of Nanchang in Jiangxi, China.

i might sound stupid, but what does an observation wheel do?
It’s just like ferris wheels. There are some slight difference in designs and sizes, but generally observation wheels are just the same thing as ferris wheels.
While the ferris wheels are normally meant for fun at theme parks etc… observation wheels are meant as tourist attractions to give a bird eye view for the visitors.
i see…
btw, that pic is really nice =]

Agnes… I like your site content, but it’s a bit difficult to navigate to be frank. It’s annoying to open every pages on a new window… it’s unnecessary especially when it’s opening your own web pages.
Btw, I strongly doubt that the photos you used are taken by your team, at least not all of those. Sharing from other sources are fine, would be nice if credits are given though.
