Just an ok song imo, but it’s already topping some of the charts in a matter of weeks; I guess whatever relates to Big Bang is turning into gold these days :)

K-Pop better watch out. They’re getting too predictable. Do they just throw as many girls together to form a group nowadays and then hash out these boringly shot videos and dance choreography? I guess so. Oh well. As long as the money rolls in the fat cat music execs and producers will stay the course till we all puke from it. That’s the same with American music companies as well. Creativity and originality is hard to come by these days.
For me personally, it doesn’t even have to be anything extremely clever or genius, just something different to see and hear once in awhile will suffice, lol. :/
cole… there are some artists that used to have a more unique style, but Korean music market is not huge enough to support the variety, and most of the artists have to follow the trend or risked being sidelined from the K-pop scene altogether.
I agree, it’s not a good thing at all. I hope there are artists that will stick to their ideology and try something new… all trends will have their ups and downs, and those who dared to be different might just reap the rewards when there’s a change in mood.

exactly the point. i am not sure if you remember kara when they debut? they are different from wonder girls or snsd, but not popular. so what can they do? change their style similar to wg and snsd in 2009, and they suddenly become one of the most popular girls group.
but the trend can’t stay forever. pop music is changing rapidly all the time, what popular today maybe not popular next year. maybe next year people will get tired of the pop groups and want back solo singers, nobody knows now… its hard to predict.

Sometimes I wish Lollipop was a proper single and not a CF. Anyway, it is rumored that 2NE1’s first single is titled Madness. Can;t wait for May. I think Madness would be a wicked song based from the title.
