Khmer version of “Nobody” by Cambodian quartet RHM, originally sang by Korean pop group Wonder Girls. Not only did they copy (without permission) the song, but the choreography and outfits are almost identical too…
JYP Entertainment (WG’s agency) has confirmed that it’s plagiarism and is now seeking legal actions against the copycats. It’s said that there are other pirated versions in Chinese and Thai… but the Khmer version is the only one I found on Youtube.
Most netizens, presumably K-pop (and/or WG’s) fans are bashing the Cambodian act; blogger Brian shared some different thoughts though, that Koreans themselves are questionable for their copycat works over the years.
Set the legal issue aside, I actually giggled watching the video… not sure why.

i read there are more countries that copied too? but wow, the song is the same.
Yeah, it’s said that there are copycats from Thailand and China as well… but I couldn’t find those pieces.
i don’t understand how their company or choreographer can be so stupid.
are they thinking no one will find out about this, or they won’t get in trouble for being copycats?
bb, i think the biggest problem is some people don’t think that copycating is wrong. a few years ago korea is famous for their copycat too, not just for unknown singers, but some superstars.
you giggled because the way they sang it sounds so funny…
one would believe they’re just actually making out words.
^_^
Sorry I am Cambodian and I think some of you guys are ignorant, seriously get a life. How would guys understand that everything is exactly copied, you guys don’t understand Cambodian (Khmer)? No I didn’t think so. Anyways getting to the point, ALL Asian countries do covers of songs from other countries, so lets not even start with Korea, because Koreans are not innocent from copying and stealing American music and melodies and beats. Not only that people from RHM intended to entertain Cambodians, not the world. Good luck suing a music company from a 3rd world country, I wonder how many riels you guys can get from suing RHM.

Thanks for the link Winshu :)
I’m not being mean or anything plus I’m Korean.
It’s just that why copy Korean songs?
THEY ARE THE BEST!
