Will be travelling to Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park – famous for its volcanoes – in Indonesia next week. Still a few days to go, but I have a few personal matters to settle before the trip, thus the blog will not be updated until I’m back next weekend (Nov 14). See you again then.

Indonesian Rupiah

So, what’s the millionaire’s trip about? Apparently Indonesian Rupiah is one of the least valued currency units; got myself 1.9 million Rupiahs (~US$200) the other day, which literally makes me a millionaire just like many others lol.

In case you are wondering, the world’s least valued currency is the Vietnamese đồng, which took over the #1 spot in April 2009 from the suspended Zimbabwean dollar, which had a 100 trillion dollar banknote (~US$33) at some point.

Why stop at millionaire? You should go for billionaire :)

Wow, I didn’t know about the Vietnamese Dong. I thought that tiltle was still held by the Zimbabwean dollar. I bet that makes Robert Mugabe feel really important now, lol that his currency is no longer the most worthless.

    Thanks kyon :)

Steve… don’t need to be billionaire, travelling in Indonesia is cheap :p

cole… I’m not sure if you are being sarcastic, but the Zimbabwean dollar is suspended indefinitely; their people are using other currencies instead, and the ZD is worth nothing more than a piece of paper… close to being worthless.

Cole: I don’t see anything that’s funny. It just shows how much trouble they are in financially and the hardship that the people are facing.

have a safe journey there. As I’m into travelling too, I can’t wait to read ur blog entry of it. Been thinking of doing an Indonesian trip but haven’t got to the right time yet. May be soon.

Yes, I was being sarcastic. Mugabe is a greedy cruel pig that will take any advantage he may have over even the poorest country in order to make himself look better,…at the expense of the poor people.

I feel for the common people that suffer under regimes such as his. Regimes that rule with military power and keep the people starving and poor and uneducated. That’s how he stays in power. And the people are kept weak and have no means of throwing him out. It’s sad. Unfortunately for some that are born into that enviroment, that’s all they know.
