There are debates running on some Singapore forums lately about the revealing dress of actress Joanne Peh on a cooking show [more on Divaasia]
The actress was dressed in a low-cut halter-neck print dress on the TV show, which at first glance kinda looked like a bikini (because of the apron)…

While some netizens were criticising her outfit as distracting and too revealing, there are others who cheered it on, saying that Singaporeans are being too conservative.
Personally I think it’s not a matter of sexy or revealing, but appropriateness. I wonder if she would wear similar outfit if she’s cooking at home… and that’s probably the answer to whether the dress was appropriate for a cooking show or not.
I know there are lots of cooking shows where celebrity guests would don in revealing outfits on consistent basis, especially in some cheapskate Japanese and Taiwanese variety shows. But when it comes to a genuine culinary show, I would rather have the guests focusing on their cooking skills (or no-skills) instead.
Am I being too conservative? Hmmm…

was she the host of the show, or just a guest?
i can imagine the dress looking like a bikini, but i can still clearly tell that it’s just a dress at first glance.
i can’t really judge if it’s too sexy from that single shot, but i guess it’s not such a big deal. she’s a celebrity after all. she might have not chosen the outfit herself too.
i personally think that sexiness is not solely based on how much skin you’re showing. it’s also your attitude or behaviour, you know, like some celebs act like they’re “so hot” sometimes.
if this actress was actually really modest and sincere when she was on the show, i would say that she’s not being sexy in an undesirable way, but sexy in an elegant and feminine way.
lol, hopefully i made sense to you guys.
bb, she is just a guest. every week the show will bring two celebrities to compete against each other. even though its a cooking show, its still a variety show… so i think its not big deal for her to wear that. the picture looks like bikini, but on the real show its not that bad lah. but i think its uncomfortable to cook in such dress, dangerous of wardrobe malfunction. so yeinjee maybe right, its not appropriate for cooking because not comfortable, not because too sexy.
Just think it’s a rrrreeeeallllllyyyyyy bad idea to dress like that near a hot wok that could be full of oil.
[...] Joanne Peh… too sexy to cook? [...]
Yep, I’d hate to think of a flying piece of hot grease landing on that nice soft exposed chest, ;P. It’s all for ratings ratings ratings.
does she do breakfast in bed as well?
she more suitable for geylang than caldecott. her smile not nice and not natural. she too eager to show off her new-found breast, then kenna so many bad rumour about her. anyway, everybody that i know seem to hate her to the core!
some people say she has a “horse” face. haven’t seen a busty horse b4. this is the 1st time!
