yeinjee, leah’s not japanese. her ethnicity is actually chinese, filipino and french.
anyway, a 22-year-old mom is just so young. plus, she’s beautiful and famous too.
that’s so much for girls to envy about.
i like leah, so if she makes a comeback, i hope it won’t be a hard time for her.

Yeah, I know. American-Japanese is from the perspective of birth place and where she is currently based.

It’s not easy to make her comeback, but if there’s any idol that can do it (after giving birth) in Japan… it’s Leah :)

    Oh wow! Congrats Leah ^_^!

    Congratulations to her.
But I would say her fame in Japan is over, she started losing popularity already before her pregnancy.
And after announcing a shotgun wedding her fans began to distance themselves more (majority of her fanbase were young men)

Leah is not Chinese or French, you fools. She’s half white and half Filipino.

  9. #9. Yein Jee on April 29th, 2009

fenatic… get your facts right before insulting people.

Her father is a Chinese-Filipino, mother American-French… as mentioned from her official website.

Besides, WHITE is not an ethnic or nationality to begin with.

it’s funny how some people are so-called fans of so and so, but they never get the basic facts right…even when there are so many sources to confirm from.
i always see people debate over leah’s ethnicity. they really just assume what they think is right.

Leah Dizon is half white and half Filipino. I don’t see how there’s any denying that. Her mother doesn’t speak any language other than English and the same goes for her father. The girl was born in Las Vegas, you can’t get much whiter than that. This filipina French mess is pure bullshit.

  12. #12. bb on May 1st, 2009

the things you said aren’t even valid facts. only speaking english DOESN’T mean you can’t be french or chinese. and being born in las vegas DOESN’T make you white. i know leah is partly white. but when you say someone’s white, you’re talking about their RACE. i said leah’s french and that’s ETHNICITY. do you not know that FRENCH PEOPLE ARE WHITE?! by the way, she is ALSO PARTLY CHINESE. and to prove that, i suggest you to watch this video:

i hope people don’t need to correct you anymore.

I agree with BB. On her official blog (ameblo.jp/leahdizon)it says filipino/chinese/french under “PROFILE” but you may need to translate it with google, and watch that video too she says it herself.

wow……anyways i want to wish her luck…i been following this story for the longest time, and had a feeling the baby was going to be a girl(i was right). As long as she’s happy, us(the リア。デイソソfans)will be happy…:).as i try to fight away my tears of happyness and joy….i know that one day she will come back and be one of the top j-pop artists….and hopefully i will be out of college and in japan to see her concerts for my first time, and probely my last time..so anyway , for everyone who is reading this comment..i just hope you fully support in what i have to say about my idol….and her name is (LEAH DIZON) -X1029(Xiong)

Okay BB, with that said, I guess that even though I was born in the states and am like 4th generation American, my ancestors hailed from Ukraine, Austria and Poland. Are you saying that I should tell people I’m Polish, Austrian and Ukranian? Of course not, that’s just stupid. I’m American and so is she.

  16. #16. bb on May 3rd, 2009

    OMG, you still don’t understand.
i didn’t say she’s not american. she is, but that’s NATIONALITY, not ETHNICITY.

leah’s ethnicity = chinese, filipino and french
    leah’s nationality = american

in the video, she talks about her ethnicity, not nationality.
