A premature baby boy who was born on board an AirAsia flight last Wednesday night will be given free flights for life with the Malaysia-based budget airline.
The aircraft made an emergency diversion to Kuala Lumpur when the mother went into labour, but the baby was smart enough to pop out before the plane landed, thanks to the great assist by Dr. Ronald who happened to be on board.
The mother will enjoy the same free flights for life as well; wonder if there’s any bonus for the doctor though… guess not.
Congrats to the mummy & baby; and a pat on the back for Dr. Ronald :)

Very Nice gesture by AirAsia. And very clever too, lol. They know they won’t inccur any money loss by giving free flights for life to one mommy and baby who may or may not even fly that often, and yet what an opportunity for some great press for the airline. ( I can just hear them talking in the board room about jumping at the chance that arose. I know the types believe me.) Got a love big corporate mentality, lol. But still…I am very happy for the Mother and baby. Congratulations to them. Companies should do more nice things for people.
Exactly. The executives are probably happier than the lady; like “why don’t people give more birth on our planes?” lol. It’s win-win-win. Free flights, free promotion, and the press (and me) got something to write about.
On second thought… the mummy and baby were lucky (to survive). Who knows what might have happened if the doctor was not on board. The flight attendants should have a bit of training for these emergencies, but not sure if they can handle the real thing.
