The Semeru-Bromo-Batok volcanoes, the most unearthly place that I’ve ever been. It’s the highlight of my Indonesian trip… had to wake up early in the morning and catch a jeep ride to a mountain-top viewpoint at Mt Penanjakan for the sunrise and breathtaking scenery of the volcanoes and caldera…

The tallest volcano in the backdrop is the active Mt Semeru; the nearest is Mt Batok, a dead volcano; while the steamy sleeping volcano is the famous Mt Bromo. All these volcanoes are located inside the Tengger Caldera, a massive crater created by super volcano eruptions millions of years ago.

    Thanks for the compliment folks.

felice… 14M. The photos are shrunk here, so it doesn’t matter that much. The location of viewpoint was nice, and the sunrise provided some great natural lightening… even the basic cameras can produce stunning photos.

PG… wait till you come back, we jalan sama-sama :)

    yeinjee you’re a professional photographer? ^-^
I love the composition of your shots especially the silhouette detailed and sharp ^^,
BTW what lense do you use? a wide angle?

    Thanks for the compliments :)

Park… not pro, but like taking photos. In fact I didn’t know what silhouette really means until you mentioned it here… have to google it to know what it is lol. Using 18-70mm wide angle Sony kit lens.

yeinjee: what do you do for a living? cuz you travel a whole lot.

  11. #11. Yein Jee on November 24th, 2009

I’m a webmaster… building & managing websites. I can work from anywhere with a proper internet connection.

Travel is my passion, and I want to travel around the world. I’ve been working on it for the past decade; my whole career is built towards making the dream a reality :)

@Yein Jee ^-^ wow a a dream come true for you , nice lens you got there ^_^ wide angle + macro hehehehehe 2 in 1 ^-^
I wish I can make my wish come true too ^-^

yeinjee: that’s a nice dream. is that why you posted that page about that indian guy that visited every country? hope you can accomplish it, too.
park dong ah: what’s your dream?

  14. #14. Yein Jee on November 25th, 2009

Park… what’s your wish? Good luck regardless.

felice… haha, nice catch. Bumped into that story by chances, and thought that it was interesting and fitting to my current mood.

I’m not as ambitious though… there’s about 60 locations at my ‘to-visit’ list. I should have just about enough time to achieve my dream before heaven’s call if I visit one place each year.

I love to travel, too! :) But unlike you, I don’t have enough days off to travel as much as I want in a year. :(

I have a question — do you often travel alone? Just curious…

  16. #16. Yein Jee on November 27th, 2009

I like travelling alone; flexible schedule and can travel at my own pace.

I don’t often do it by myself though. Reality is, it’s better to have a partner to look after each other… doing simple stuff like taking photos, or looking after our valuables when visiting washroom, or in case of emergency, or simply for personal safety in some places.
