SM Entertainment, one of Korea’s largest talent management agencies, is kicking off its 09′ global audition on February 14th in its home ground, with plans to extend the audition to China, Japan, South East Asia, Canada and USA etc.
SM is looking for various talents in singing, acting, dancing, modelling etc. It’s said that all Asians are welcome regardless of nationality and age… but I doubt they would want a 40-year-old veteran lol.

Nov 15 – Wilshire Plaza Hotel, Los Angeles
Nov 22 – Toronto Korean Center, Toronto
Nov 22 – Executive Plaza Hotel, Vancouver
Nov 27/28 – Korea Village, New York

1. Singer – prepare 1 or 2 songs which you can sing without accompaniment. Please make sure that you are confident in your song selection and that the song fits best to your voice.
2. Dancer – Free Style Dancing, CD to be submitted to the reception desk on the audition date by the applicant. (If you do not bring any CD for dance, random music will be played.)
3. Actor – Impromptu Acting, memorized monologue to be prepared by applicant.
4. Model – Free posing. (5 or more)
5. Producer/Composer (Writer) – Producer/Composer (Writer) Demo CD or written music to be brought by the applicant.

Can I ask something?.. I’m a Filipino and I want to know if they will hold an audition here in the Philippines? I’m very interested to join the audition but somehow I’m not residing near the audition areas they have mentioned. I want to represent Asia too just like the other artists.. =) thanks to whoever will reply..

hehe sorry havnt posted in a long time. i think everyone is just busy with school with exams and everything coming up soon. man ive only got about 7 weeks to practice for my audition. its a scary thought since ive only got about 5 weeks of school and help with my voice teacher left. at least ive already got my song choices and everything. now just to perfect them.
Hey people, would like to know which email address to send to if I want to audition through email? As in if I want to put all my files in the email, then which one do I send to? Coz it seems like 2009sm is for the US auditions (I’m not American) and smaudition is for enquiries? Thanks a lot ^^
i sent an email but they haven’t replied and it has been a week. does that mean something? i checked the address thaat i sent it to and i made sure that i sent everything.

for the song thing. it says one or two. does that mean two is better cuz like if they dont like the first choice or something. what if they dont like either one? screw you?

and if they like your first song, they’ll prolly ask you to sing more

hey for a weekly audition do u know if theres a limit to how many songs u can sing? cause ive got about 5-6 that im practicing.

Pan Pan… haven’t heard of any Chinese SM auditions; am I missing something? So, where are you from?
erm just asking..they will look through email auditions right?then why does it seems like more people are going for the live auditions?isn’t it scarier ?or maybe email audition has a lot of bad points to it..0_0.
sea… think outside the box. You can go to the live audition AND do email auditions; there’s no saying that you must choose just one of the options.
On side note, you are auditioning to become a star who have to perform live in front of thousands of fans. The word SCARY shouldn’t appear in your dictionary at all.
Can’t speak on SM’s behalf, but I can’t see why they won’t go through the emails. It’s part of what talent scouts are paid to do.
But they don’t have a limit do they cause I wanna show the different varietys I can sing in.
