SM Entertainment, one of Korea’s largest talent management agencies, is kicking off its 09′ global audition on February 14th in its home ground, with plans to extend the audition to China, Japan, South East Asia, Canada and USA etc.

SM Entertainment Global Audition 2009

SM is looking for various talents in singing, acting, dancing, modelling etc. It’s said that all Asians are welcome regardless of nationality and age… but I doubt they would want a 40-year-old veteran lol.

[update] USA & Canada audition announced; no news on other places.

Nov 15 – Wilshire Plaza Hotel, Los Angeles
Nov 22 – Toronto Korean Center, Toronto
Nov 22 – Executive Plaza Hotel, Vancouver
Nov 27/28 – Korea Village, New York

Refer to SM Entertainment’s official website for more details. Also check out JYPE audition and Avex audition which are running in Oct/Nov in US and Canada.

Spring Water: They played the Rihanna song from the beginning.

The judges were pretty nice for the groups I saw. Before the freestyle dancing, they gave advice about dancing in front of the camera, but I already forgot what thye said -_-.

I sent an audition resume a week ago, everyday i would check my mails but until now i still have no reply so i was wondering if they rejected me or mayb i sent it to the wrong email?

    @kim

I haven’t sent in my audition yet. When you compress the video, doesn’t the size of the file stay the same?

Also, with the email question, people told me to send it to usaaudition@smtown.com because the 2009sm@smtown.com is just an email to apply for the audition.

The judges were f***** RACIST! That’s all I have to say about that.

  7. #1587. SnoopyXD on November 16th, 2009

lol first of all are you white?? second of all how are they racist??

  8. #1588. spring water on November 16th, 2009

to pixel: oic..thanks [: were the judges korean?

  9. #1589. Anonymous on November 16th, 2009

to SnoopyXD: No. I am not white, I am not Korean either. I am ASIAN and I auditioned for modeling. My batch was like the last 5 to go in the audition room. While we were waiting inside the audition room for our turn, we were seated at the side of the room. There was this one korean girl (very pretty btw) she auditioned for modeling as well, since I didn’t come prepared I paid very close attention to what the judges asked her to do. So first they asked her to do 5 poses in front of the camera, mind you the camera person even stood up and when in front of her. After that, they asked her to walked back and forth and they turned the music on for her and she did like 10 poses AGAIN. And then they asked her to introduce herself to the camera w/c they didn’t do to any of the auditioners in her group. So, while watching I was already thinking of what to say to the camera since I thought I will be going through the same process. She was the only one who did modeling in her group the rest did singing. When it was our turn, 2 people were before me and they sang. My friend was standing on my right side and she auditioned for modeling as well. She’s non Korean as well but an ASIAN. She’s been practicing “walking” so I thought to myself there won’t be a problem but when she got to the front of the judges they were like do 5 poses and we’ll count for you. Like literally everyone in our group looked at each other and were confused. It’s not like we witnesses them treating the other girl in the previous group “specially”. So I was next they asked me to do the same thing, 3 people did modeling in our group but none of us were asked to introduce ourselves nor walk. I just wished they treated everybody equally, it’s like saying you’re not good enough so let’s not waste time.

    to Anonymous:are you filipino?

  11. #1591. Anonymous on November 17th, 2009

no I’m Thai, why d’you asked? Did you go to the audition as well?

  12. #1592. Yein Jee on November 17th, 2009

It’s an audition anon… off course they’ll spend more time on people that they think would have a chance, and on contrary less time to those they don’t think would make it. Don’t try to make a simple fact into racist issue.

  13. #1593. melon on November 17th, 2009

to Anonymous:no but i wanted to go next summer because i`m from swiss and we go in summer holiday to canada
i`m from asien too but sri-lanka but i`m not dark many peoples mistakes me for thai

sry i wrote too much to your Questions

  14. #1594. Hitomi on November 17th, 2009

Do you guys remember the last person in your group, the 10th person, did they make them do their stuff in the center of the room, or do it from where they are standing?

  15. #1595. Anonymous on November 17th, 2009

hitomi: It depends what they’re auditioning for. Like in my group the last person to go rapped so she just where she was but the group before us, the last person modeled so she was asked to go to the center and did her stuff.

Did anybody auditioned for modeling? If so, what did they asked you to do?

  16. #1596. spring water on November 17th, 2009

what should i wear to the audition? :o

  17. #1597. Hitomi on November 17th, 2009

Anonymous: what number were you? And i also did modeling and they asked for 5 poses, and are u freaking serous they asked a girl to do extra stuff? They ASKED her to do it or did she do it alone?

  20. #1600. Anonymous on November 17th, 2009

hitomi: I was in the 300’s and YESSSS, the judges asked her to do 10 poses and she walked around the room they even asked the other people in her group to make room for her like literally you know how people were standing against the wall they asked them to move to the corner so she’ll have a solid background.
