SM Entertainment, one of Korea’s largest talent management agencies, is kicking off its 09′ global audition on February 14th in its home ground, with plans to extend the audition to China, Japan, South East Asia, Canada and USA etc.

SM is looking for various talents in singing, acting, dancing, modelling etc. It’s said that all Asians are welcome regardless of nationality and age… but I doubt they would want a 40-year-old veteran lol.
[update] USA & Canada audition announced; no news on other places.
Nov 15 – Wilshire Plaza Hotel, Los Angeles
Nov 22 – Toronto Korean Center, Toronto
Nov 22 – Executive Plaza Hotel, Vancouver
Nov 27/28 – Korea Village, New York
Refer to SM Entertainment’s official website for more details. Also check out JYPE audition and Avex audition which are running in Oct/Nov in US and Canada.
1. Singer – prepare 1 or 2 songs which you can sing without accompaniment. Please make sure that you are confident in your song selection and that the song fits best to your voice.
2. Dancer – Free Style Dancing, CD to be submitted to the reception desk on the audition date by the applicant. (If you do not bring any CD for dance, random music will be played.)
3. Actor – Impromptu Acting, memorized monologue to be prepared by applicant.
4. Model – Free posing. (5 or more)
5. Producer/Composer (Writer) – Producer/Composer (Writer) Demo CD or written music to be brought by the applicant.

Anonymous: She better be freaking hot, I think maybe they wanted a solid background for video examples of the auditions, like you know how u go on the SM website and u get to see some of the past global auditions and theres only 1 person there with a background, maybe its just for that, well that plus maybe she does have a chance, SM wants looks
Hitomi: She’s beautiful alright but can you imagine how we felt when weren’t asked to do the same thing? I SERIOUSLY felt like crap, hehe… Did you audition for modeling as well? How was it? What # were you? are you Korean?
Anonymous: Just u telling me this makes me feel bad, even though i know i did bad, cause when i was up i completely forgot the poses i prepared and had to think about stuff on the spot, i dont even know if i smiled, I was number 90, and Im chinese
Hitomi: They didn’t ask you to introduce yourself to the camera?? how old are you btw? So my assumption is wrong then coz I thought maybe they were running out of time thats why they just asked us to pose and not walk. Coz if you were in the 90’s that like pretty damn early and they still only asked you to pose. Sorry you forgot youre poses if it make you feel better I messed up my audition as well :-( I laughed and covered my face at the end of my last pose I could even hear the judges laughing at me hehe
anonymous: hey,i think they weren’t being racists.. that’s just how auditions really go.. if they like you,if they find something in you the thing they call ‘xfactor’ then they’re gonna make you do more. for models they’re gonna make you pose some more.. it’s just that they found the korean girl you were talking about really pretty that’s why they put more time on her.. that’s just really it. that’s how auditions go.. cheer up=)
Anonymous: the people outside said to only tell the judges what you were doing, and thats all my group and the group before did, they just said singing, modeling, dancing, etc. and im also 18
@kim
I’m auditioning for singing only. I was thinking of auditioning for dancing too, but I’m not good at thinking of my own dance.
@Anonymous
Did you have to do freestyling as well? For those who don’t want to do freestyling, do you just stand there?
Don’t think I’ll audition this year. Cause I’ve got braces and not getting them off until mid next year. So if i do make it, I dont think i can take it off in korea
Audition for the weekly one then … R u in la ?
Julie: YES, they ask you to dance regardless of what you’re auditioning for. Its really not that bad, it was just a rhythm test.
I am auditioning for weekly since i dont live in the US
lol im the same as you julie but if you got braces they probs will take care of them over there. im going to weekly too when are u going? mayb we could go on same day.
@SnoopyXD
Wish i could go in person. But my parents don’t even know about this audition yet. I was thinking if I make it then I’d tell them cause I don’t want them to feel disappointed in me. So auditioning my email is my only choice.
@ Julie
well my parents know about it. and they support me like they want me to get in and they know about it and everything but im not sure if they actually think i can get in. i think they think i cant get in thats why their so okay about it. but ill show them. XD
Hey I’m new here and i was wondering how long does it take for them to reply an email cos my sis sent one and it has been a month and still no rep.
@ Shaina
well she should be getting a reply soon. according to the others it takes from 2 – 4 weeks for them to send it.
@julie and snoopy XD
where are u guys from then?? do they really have time to see the weekly audition?
i really want to audition.. maybe next year… i don’t know how to dance … love singing though… i was thinking of trying out for ballet and a dance class then go for this audition…^_~…. i hope i can do well… my parents might not like this… i will tell them though… GOOD LUCK to everyone who is auditioning… this is my first time.. let see…^_~…. i will do it next … (for several reasons)
