SM Entertainment, one of Korea’s largest talent management agencies, is kicking off its 09′ global audition on February 14th in its home ground, with plans to extend the audition to China, Japan, South East Asia, Canada and USA etc.

SM is looking for various talents in singing, acting, dancing, modelling etc. It’s said that all Asians are welcome regardless of nationality and age… but I doubt they would want a 40-year-old veteran lol.
[update] USA & Canada audition announced; no news on other places.
Nov 15 – Wilshire Plaza Hotel, Los Angeles
Nov 22 – Toronto Korean Center, Toronto
Nov 22 – Executive Plaza Hotel, Vancouver

@kim
I’m from Australia ><"
For those who have already auditioned this year, what song did they use for freestyling?
Anonymous: Btw, did that girl who did the 10 pose modeling stuff dance to the free style?
hitomi: yep, she was grinding hehe.
Lol no doubt she got in :D
wow. the blog is alive again. lol. before was quite slow. now with the LA audition done, people have things to say.
so that korean girl got in, right? or something like that. do you think sm will train her so she’ll dance and sing and act too? to get them money. since shes pretty and stuff.
im planning to audition for singing. so in the song that im singing, should i keep it plain or add things. like during the practise cuz im pretty sure im gonna be so nervous the day of i wont even remember but anyway…
and my friend needs a song. english song sung by a girl. idk what cuz i dont listen to music much. any suggestions? lol. it has to be something not so hard cuz the audit is tis sunday. o.O 4 days. damn.
my friend said that the people that auditioned weekly might debut in us not korea so sm might want like really good people that are already like “trained” cuz they dont hav the training bases and stuff in the us. or something.
IM SO NERVOUS.
To share my opinion and not trying to hurt anyones feelings, when I was watching or listening to other peoples audition, everyone in there was great, all the dancers looked awesome and all the singers sang so well that they all can be stars. That’s when reality comes in, if 2 people sing just as good, and 1 of them is ugly and the other is pretty, who do you think they will pick? That kind of resolves how people say SM only pick people by looks, but then when you think about what I just said it’s like I have a point there.
hitomi: wouldn’t any ent companies pick the pretty one? unless they see the less pretty one has more potential. right? if they’re both equal, it’s obvious. not just sm.
felice: Well yeah I know every company does that, but a lot of people keep trash talking SM about how they pick the pretty ones, and I barely hear people talk about JYP and YG that way.
hey, did anyone went to the JYP audition yet? how was it?
@Anonymous
What song did they use for the freestyling?
thereasa… weekly auditions are held weekly in LA and Seoul where people can just walk in to try their luck.
felice… I believe the artist will debut in Korea regardless of weekly/global/Korea/US intake. All the intakes should get their training in Korea regardless of where they are from.
Hitomi… there’s more trash talk on SM on almost every topic as compared to other companies, not limited to beauty vs talent issue.
As a matter of fact, not all artists in SM are pretty boys/girls, and artists from JYP/YG etc. are not uglier than SM’s.
It’s inarguable though, that pretty faces will always have strong advantage over others in the entertainment industry.
@ julie
OMFG UR FROM AUSTRALIA??? IM FROM AUSTRALIA?!?!? which part of aus u from?
lol the audition is fine with me cause im going to LA for a holiday in december. so im taking down 2 birds with 1 stone XD
well probbaly (in my opinion) SM gets more talk about mostly looking at peoples looks and less on talent because SM is probably one of the biggest, if not THE biggest korean ent company because they have so many trainees and most very very good looking. they say they only look at the physical features of a person. also it might also be because SM has a tendency to make their already pretty trainees even better looking with PS.
sorry if none of that made any sense.
Sweet my sm audition is in a few days it will definitely go better than my jyp audition
@SnoopyXD
Melbourne :) What about you?
Felice: HI’YAM~ OMG so sorry for late replying, I was supeh busy with stuff ><
to hitomi: hey since you’re chinese, do you know if the judges understand chinese?
I’m auditioning in NY and I got a email saying to be at the place by 3:45 so my audition can start at 4 but should I go earlier than that??
to susyy:): i’m auditioning in ny too! are you going friday or saturday? i heard it’s going to rain o.o
spring water: I only heard them speak Korean, sorrys :P
