SM Entertainment, one of Korea’s largest talent management agencies, is kicking off its 09′ global audition on February 14th in its home ground, with plans to extend the audition to China, Japan, South East Asia, Canada and USA etc.

SM is looking for various talents in singing, acting, dancing, modelling etc. It’s said that all Asians are welcome regardless of nationality and age… but I doubt they would want a 40-year-old veteran lol.
[update] USA & Canada audition announced; no news on other places.
Nov 15 – Wilshire Plaza Hotel, Los Angeles
Nov 22 – Toronto Korean Center, Toronto
Nov 22 – Executive Plaza Hotel, Vancouver
Nov 27/28 – Korea Village, New York
Refer to SM Entertainment’s official website for more details. Also check out JYPE audition and Avex audition which are running in Oct/Nov in US and Canada.
1. Singer – prepare 1 or 2 songs which you can sing without accompaniment. Please make sure that you are confident in your song selection and that the song fits best to your voice.

technically im not malaysian
im actually chinese
& a lil bit japanese.
ohmygosh i cant wait until they announce their global auditions!!
yeinjee i olediask my question to smhelp…
but they did not reply…=.=”’
tatsuki… there’s nothing I can do about that. I do feel that those who are interested with the audition should just wait patiently until the updates are made. At the meantime, try to brush up your skills instead of overfocused on the audition itself.
i want to try out for the singing
so would it help if i took singing lessons??
ally… we won’t know. It should, but it depends on how good the teacher is, and how talented you are at the first place.

Hi! I am from the Philippines…I want to audition in singing…=)
Yein jee, I want to know whether what should I prepare to become a lyricist? A lyric that I wrote or what?
anne… if you can’t understand Korean it’s really not a good idea to be their lyricist.
but, what if i work hard to understand korean? im trying my best to learn korean because it was my dream to be a korean lyricist.. besides that, r u a worker from sm?
and, they open for global too, right? even singer from other country has to learn korean..
It’s up to you anne. What I can’t understand is why some people persist on working with K-pop but not in their own country instead. It’s probably much worth it to polish your mother tongue than working on a new language.
you see, Im a chinese and i oni can speak chinese but i cant read it well and write in chinese. Not everyone is good with their mother tongue.. But im really interested in korean n japanese. Tats y.. This is my challenge on my language ability.. Thats y..
bsides tat, do i nid to prepare anything for become a lyricist? i nid to take the auditions too??
I am not saying everyone is good with their mother tongue… but it’s not often that people are better in other languages than their own.
My point at the earlier comment is… it’s better to spend your time to improve your Chinese than learning Japanese or Korean. How many years do you think you need to get your Korean to your current Chinese level? And why not spend the Korean-learning time to polish your Chinese?
If you can’t write a simple paragraph in Korean… it’s a long way to go my dear. Don’t bother about the audition yet before you master the language.
