It depends on who is running the audition. In this case the audition is held by an independent agency, so it’s not uncommon for to charge a fee. It’s the way for the middle-man to make money (or at least covering the cost) because they might not be financially backed by the big agencies.

My only concern is the connection between this firm with the entertainment companies, e.g. SM etc. I’m not pointing to this company in particular, but there are agencies who made false claims about their supposed ‘connections’.

That being said, the fee is $10 right? It’s probably a reasonable risk to take if you are interested.

i dont think i’ll be going to the eden entertainment audition tomorrow..they added an audition fee all of a sudden o.O

so basically i had to fill this form with like basic infos. and then wait until the set of numbers are called. there were about 600 auditionees and i was in the 170s so i was pretty early, i guess. we came into the room with the judges in sets of 30 ish. the first 20 stood in 2 rows, the last 10 just sat there near the door, the room wasnt big, btw. and then the judges, mine there was 2. they alternated filming with the camera. they would tell you to start and stop. and you also had to sing to the camera cuz they’ll make you to. when that’s done, they’ll send you an email telling whether u made it or not. though i think if they make you wait you didnt get in because there was this guy that had to stay behind his group of people and went to do something else backstage with another staff or something. and even though they’ll tell you what time you should come to the audition, come as early as you can anyway because they only time it so not everybody come at the same time. still… be early cuz mine was scheduled for 6 but my friend’s was at 1 so we came at 1:30 ish. this other guy in my class got scheduled at 4 and he was number 400 something. so yeah… just come early. and good luck!

JCEL: yes, i auditioned live for the 2009 one. and about email audition, i havent done it yet so i don’t know how it works.

Christina: i’ll try to work on that. and when i recorded it nobody was home so yeah.. i get to yell as loud as i want. haha…

hjgml: i think the sm song thing is true. cuz then they compare you to the artists that sing the songs.

That’s true about singing an SM song is a bad idea. I’m not sure about the bad Korean stuff, but it doesn’t take long to learn how to write and pronounce Hangul.

@felice: you have nice vibrato and voice but one thing I think you need to practice is the pitch. Your singing sounds pretty flat. So work on that, but otherwise, Your Great!! Keep going!!~ Ur just so lucky you have a camera you can record with. :P If i wanted to i have to use my dad’s and he’s against me doing all this singing n stuff. He doesn’t even kno i want to do this xD

ok guys, i don’t want to go on this overloading of conversation, but i personatly think that judges prefeer people who sing in english than thoses who sing bad korean. I’ve also heard that they don’t like when people sing sm songs.(sorry if i’m off)

Link fixed. Not bad felice. Nice voice; the tune is a bit off here and there, but it’s good overall for an amateur.

Not sure if it’s good enough to impress the judges though; there must be a few dozens that can sing as well.
