Korean pop group Wonder Girls performs the English version of their hit song “Nobody” at The Wendy Williams Show on Monday (July 21), which was apparently the girls’ American TV debut…

To be frank I’m not sure who Wendy Williams is, but it’s a national TV show… can’t be bad in terms of exposure. Check the official clip on Wendy’s blog if the video above is not working [video via chanesechic@Youtube]

Hope them the best of luck! It would be great if more Korean singers can make a break through in the American music industry.

I commend them on their performance. I’m glad they were actually singing live instead of lip sync. That would have been disasterous. They proved they got the guts to go out there and sing live english in front of an American audience. Sounds like they have been working hard on their English too. Much improved from the music vid we saw.

Good job Wonder Girls! Especially Ye Eun, she rocked that performance.

i tihnk the girls did well too. sohee still weakest in english, but sounds better already. how many of the readers here are from america? i would like to see their responses on wonder girls, are they really getting notice in america?

More than half of the readers here are Americans; but most are silence readers… read only, not talk lol.

Well, Jonas Brothers’ fans (in the numbers of millions?) will definitely learn about the Wonder Girls; other than that there’s not much exposure for the girls yet.

I’m not sure who is who but yes, one of those girl’s English is really pretty good sounding on the song. The other’s not so good. But if they keep practicing the script it will get better, I’m assuming they have probably been listening to a demo of the song sung in English to listen to. Keep listening and keep practicing girls.

The only thing I might would consider if I were them, is that maybe they should just let the best English sounding girl do All the lead parts in the verses. I suppose that is probably Ye Eun.

Main thing is this song has got a really catchy melody and hook. It has the potential to make it I think with the right promotion. They need to really fine tune the English and it could go imo. And of course the girls are pretty. :P

    Kyon,

Even though their type of performance is not that big in the US but, they did a good job. Americans are too much into rap and R&B type of music. I personally enjoyed it and want more Korean singers to make a break through in the US. I only found about the Wonder Girls online. But, I’m pretty sure they have a lot of new fans from the Jonas Brother Tour. The Jonas Brothers are a HUGE hit among teen girls and younger girls.

so in order to see them I would have to go to a Jonas Bros. concert. I ain’t feeling it.

WG are having their own promotion events while on the tour… not sure about the details though; seems like random events AFAIK.

Wendy Willians is an American talk show host who mostly discusses gossip about other stars and pokes fun at her viewers lives including her own. She sometimes does crazy or wierd stunts to get viewers.
