Acclaimed Malaysian director-screenwriter Yasmin Ahmad died on late Saturday at the age of 51 from a stroke she suffered on Thursday.

A great storyteller whom I personally admired, and a wonderful filmmaker adored by people regardless of races or religions. Rest in peace.

Sharing one of her last works, “Funeral”, a heart-warming TV commercial for Singapore’s Ministry of Community Development…

My condolences. Have got to know her works only after her 1st commercial work for Singapore’s MCD. She has a way with the storylines without being obvious. Very refreshing. Was looking forward to her future works. I will miss her.

I may not have known Yasmin Ahmad or her works before coming across this post, but the “Funeral” commercial you posted was just incredible and I’m sad that a person so talented has passed away.
