Shortly after the count down to the New Year on Tuesday, officials from the Guinness headquarters announced the birth of 2008’s first world record… a non-stop singing marathon that lasted 214 hours, 20 minutes and eight seconds.

Hangzhou locals and tourists began the challenge nine days earlier on December 23. During the period, nearly 2,000 people performed 3,151 songs on stage. [Crienglish]
