Omura was among the 16 finalists chosen from 276 video entries to showcase his moves in Tokyo on Sunday (Mar 30) in a contest organized by the Pen Spinning Association Japan.

I guess the judges had to make some tough decisions determining the winner, which in the end ruled in favour of reigning TV champion Satoshi Kamiya.

It’s not a new song. If not mistaken it was released in early 2000s, in Park’s “Promise” album.

Park Ki-young made her debut in 1998; she has released 7 albums over the years… the latest was in Sept 2007. I am not sure how famous she is in Korea, but she is not really well known outside of her homeland.

I like her voice though, and she’s pretty good in singing live too…

Park Ki-young and famous actress Park Eun-hye (of Daejanggeum fame) were classmates. They are still good buddies these days.

The first song is “Sweet Dream” by Korean girls group Redsox; and the second song is “If U Wanna” by another girls group Kara [Hat tip to Hopeisnear@Youtube].

If you are patient enough, you would spot Korean actor Jang Dong-gun in one of the picture with some stewardess. Korean actresses Han Ga-in and Nam Sang-mi also feature in the video too, as spokespersons for Asiana and Jeju respectively.

Yamashita performed the stunt in Shika town, Ishikawa prefecture, Japan. His performance lasted for 10 minutes before the piano became unplayable.

Artistic or whatever… I can’t see anything remarkable about this stunt beside a waste (piano).

The main character (with turquoise hair) of the video is Hatsune Miku (初音ミク), a character from Vocaloid, a singing synthesizer application software developed by the Yamaha Corporation that enables users to synthesize singing by just typing in lyrics and melody.

The first song is titled “Kurutto, Mawatte, Ikkaiten”, adapted from the ending theme of anime “Sgt Frog” (ケロロ軍曹; Keroro Gunsō). I am guessing that the voice is how the software (or Hatsune Miku) should sound like.

Big Bang was named the Artist of The Year at the 17th Seoul Music Awards on Jan 31. Last Farewell is a song from their mini-album “Hot Issue” which was released in Nov 2007.

Jang Geun-suk is South Korea’s rising star. The 20-year-old artist gained wide notice in late 2006 with popular drama “Hwang Jiny” and his popularity continue to boost with recent fantasy-martial-art drama “Hong Gil Dong”.

The 60-year-old crooner was at a news conference to deny rumour that his private part was cut off by a Yakuza (Japanese gangster), whom the media reported to be unhappy with Hoon-a for having a relationship with his mistress.

Hoon-a stunned the audiences when he jumped on the table and began lowering his pants, revealing his underwear (partially) before the live TV broadcast was cut. Later reports (video below) showed that he decided to pull his pants back up instead of revealing anything further.

The ‘castration’ rumour was spreading like wildfire online last week, that Hoon-a was in relationship with a Korean actress with ‘Kim’ as surname, who is actually a mistress of a Yakuza boss in Korea… thus resulting in the gangster’s revenge on the singer.

Hoon-a was not the only person affected by this saga; actress Kim Hye-soo, who was alleged to be the rumoured mistress, has to publicly deny the rumour as well.

The new soap opera focuses on the sexual scandal of a handsome married pilot, and a group of jealous air hostesses fighting for his love. The stewardesses can be seen cat fighting while on duty and wearing their uniforms (video below).

The trade union representing air crew has filed a complaint on Tuesday (Jan 22) to the culture ministry and the TV station that broadcasts the show to take it off the air.

The producers of the soap have apologised for the controversies caused and promised to tone it down with longer skirts and to stop having cat fights in uniforms; but have ruled out of cancelling the show.
