Super GT is a Japan based auto racing championship series.
Established in 1994 and promoted by Japan’s GT-Association, the race was previously known as All-Japan Grand Touring Car Championship (JGTC) before changing its name in 2004 to reflect its global ambition.
Super GT races are divided into two categories, GT500 and GT300, cars with no more than 500 and 300 horsepower respectively.
Racers from both cats will run at the same time to make the race more exciting; there’s plenty of overtaking because of the extra horsepower of GT500 cars.
Autobacs is the current main sponsor for the Super GT Championship Series.
