Indonesia, officially the Republic of Indonesia, is a country in Southeast Asia with over 238 million people in population. The capital city is Jakarta, a huge metropolis.
Indonesian Travel – Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world with some 18,000 islands. Some of the famous tourist destinations include Bali Island, Yogyakarta & Borobudur, Bromo-Tengger-Semeru National Park (pic), and Lake Toba etc.
Indonesian Food – Indonesian cuisine varies greatly by region. Rice is the main staple, and side dishes are often heavily spiced. Some of the most popular and iconic Indonesian dishes include nasi goreng, gado-gado, satay and soto.
Indonesian Traditions – Indonesia has the world’s largest Muslim population, but also has a huge variety of local culture with over 300 different ethnic groups. Some of Indonesia’s famous cultural icons include gamelan (music instrument), shadow puppet, various traditional dances, and silat (martial art) etc.
Indonesian Pop Culture – Some of the most popular Indonesian celebrities include Peterpan, Anggun, Iko Uwais, Cinta Laura, Yovie & Nuno etc. American President Barack Obama spent a few years of his childhood near Jakarta.
