An Indonesian legislator from the Islamic-based Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) has resigned after he was caught browsing a pornography website with his iPad during a parliament meeting last week.
The 50-year-old lawmaker, known as Arifinto, was spotted watching a naughty movie during a House plenary session on Thursday. Arifinto defended himself that he clicked an email link not knowing that he was being led to a racy site, but the photographer who captured his act insisted that Arifinto opened the clip from a folder on his tablet and not from an email.
The politician is forced to resign regardless. And his trouble doesn’t end there, as he could be charged (and jailed) under Indonesia’s controversial anti-pornography bill, which ironically was passed in 2008 with strong backing from PKS.
