Went to the National Rice Museum (Muzium Padi Nasional) in Kedah, Malaysia, in March 2008. The museum is near the city of Alor Setar, and is famous for its huge 360-degree ceiling painting on one of the interior domes.
The painting is a nice piece of art work, featuring the bird-eye-view of the surrounding environment around the museum, as well as the growing cycle of the rice crops from ploughing to harvesting and celebrations etc…

Some photos from the museum, including portions of the wall painting
Beside the painting, the museum showcases some facts about rice, history of paddy cultivation in the region and also traditional lifestyle and entertainment of the farmers.

I was working in Kedah for around 4 years but really sad I never got the chance to visit the museum.
Adam… perhaps next time, when you are back to Malaysia.
will look for this place next time i am in alor star. never knew this place existed. the at work looks impressive
would love it if u could post pics on the exhibits? were u allowed to take pics inside the museum? inside the actual gallery?
the painting look nice.
Beng… pictures are allowed everywhere, but need to pay for bringing in the camera… RM3-5, can’t remember exactly.
Don’t have other pictures… was a bit rush last time, and I went there purposely for the painting.
