Took this photo of water lettuce from the little pond at my house after a rainy afternoon. I wonder if water lettuce is actually edible… doesn’t seem like a tasty treat regardless.

My mum walks faster than me

Accompanied my mother for a morning walk over the weekend… and I couldn’t follow up with her pace. Well, she sure has strong legs… but my weight was a killer obviously.

I couldn’t buy a nice pair of slacks

Went shopping for a new pair for slacks in December for a friend’s wedding; my old pair of trousers could no longer fit properly…

I didn’t realize my waistline has bucked up so much in a year; and the funny thing is some of the famous brands didn’t have my size… surprise surprise… am I really THAT fat?

How should I cut my toe nails?

Trying to find a good position to cut my toe nails just minutes ago; when you have a huge tummy it might be difficult to cut your toe nails… it is like doing a Yoga session in finding the right pose to cut the nails.

I feel like a woman

A pregnant woman that is… I began to understand the burden of the extra weight carried by pregnant ladies, as I am pretty close to 6 months ‘pregnancy’ now.

I can’t see my toes when standing straight

Ok… it’s not happening yet, I can still see the tip of my toes… but if I don’t control my weight from now on, it is going to happen pretty soon.

Time to lose some weight… seriously.

Attended a wedding of a high school friend on Dec 7 (2007)… brought back lots of memories and some thoughts about my own future.

High school is probably the best moment in my life. I am glad that I have had a decent high school life, and that I have made some great friends that are still around and will probably last for life.

Some people don’t like to think much about the past, but I am the type that often looks back at what I did and in hope that I will never forget all the bitter and sweet from the past.

It’s not like that I am hanging too much on the past and neglecting the future, but what’s good is the future if we don’t treasure our past? Our near future will be in past tense pretty soon… and we want to make a good future so that it would be great memories when it becomes “the past” ain’t so?

Well, just treasure everything we have experienced, experiencing and will experience soon… and enjoy our life at the very best at all time.

Happy wedding Alyster and Samuel.

There is a kind of people who always forget where they parked their cars when they visited places like shopping malls etc… I am one of these absent minded people.

There was once that I was stuck at Mid Valley Megamall for more than an hour just to find my car… champion!

Thing is, I am not that forgetful or clumsy about lots of the other stuff… but somehow, I am beaten by the confusing car parks again and again.

You love a woman, the woman loves you, but she loves the other guy more.

She cares about you, but she cares more about the other guy.

He came first, for whatever she does.

When there is dispute between you and him, it’s always your fault.

If it is his fault… it’s because you forced him to commit the mistake.

When she is in trouble… she always came back to you.

For a short period of time… you became the hero.

Although knowing that it’s only for a short period of time…
You couldn’t resist doing your best to help her.

After helping her in the troublesome moment… she goes back to the guy again.

You are always the backup player… you will never be her favourite.

Read from a paper that the National Council of Parent-Teacher Associations (NCPTA) has suggested imposing a curfew for students after 10pm… funny.

When I was studying for STPM 9-10 years ago… I would still be in the school library by 10pm, probably having supper with some buddies by 11pm and reached home by midnight. Among those friends that I often had supper with… 2 have become doctors, at least a few engineers and most others are doing well in their respective fields.

What would happen if a 10pm curfew was imposed 10 years ago? Some of us could still do well… but I doubt all of us could achieve what we have now if we were forced to live like Cinderella back then.

NCPTA is hoping that the curfew could stop youngster from hanging out in late night… I can see their point; but imposing a curfew is not the solution.

“One of Us” was a hit song in 1995 by Joan Osborne, back when I was in high school. It makes me giggle every time when I ride on a bus, thinking of what if God was just a stranger on the bus, just like one of us…

One of Us

If God had a name what would it be?
And would you call it to his face?
If you were faced with him
In all his glory
What would you ask if you had just one question?

*And yeah, yeah, God is great
Yeah, yeah, God is good
Yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah

What if God was one of us?
Just a slob like one of us
Just a stranger on the bus
Trying to make his way home

Some of my childhood taboos…

Cutting nails at night

We will kick on something real hard if we cut our nails at night.

Finger pointing to the moon

We will wet our bed if we point the fingers to the moon.

Pointing chopstick on someone

The person that was pointed will need to poo pretty soon (a good way to cure constipation?)

Whistling at night

Some dirty stuff will haunt you if you whistle at night… OR
Snakes will come after you if you whistle at night.

Life is weird.
