The petrol stations’ business is extra-good these two days with rumours flying around that the fuel prices will increase today (or tomorrow).
The phenomenon showed two things…
1. Some Malaysians are kiasu
2. Some Malaysians believe in rumours rather easily
Are you one of those kiasu Malaysians that love to believe in rumours?
Update - The rumours turn out to be true this time… fuel price going up 40%.
better b kiasu than soli mah. tonite u will know if the petrol price going up or not, u could b the one crying out loud for not being kiasu :p

78sens a litre leh my bro…. worth kiasu or not?
[...] price is hiking up 78 cents to RM2.70 per litre by midnight. Seems like it’s worth being kiasu after [...]
78c or 40c or no hike… it doesn’t really matter for me to filll the tank today; it’s not like I won’t have to use the petrol after filling a full tank this time… it’s about the long tail effect on other products and a change of lifestyle in long term, which would cost much much more than just a few dozen of dollars.
Well, no harm filling your tank though… being kiasu is not a crime, and kiasuness won this round of ‘battle’ obviously. Lucky you :)
ok loh, no one can force u become kiasu mah. me already pump full tank yesterday night, thought today going up. 78c very ‘kau’ leh.
Government never want us to spread rumours…but the actual fact is Rumours in Malaysia are always true…How many times were we dissapointed by the so called ‘Rumours’??? It seems like only yesterday that they claim no price hike till August. Look who’s talking
anon#6… rumours in Malaysia are not always true, just that most people are focusing on those that became true and forgot those that were not.
Petrol price hike is something that cannot be confirmed until the day it should be, or else the whole supply chain could break down because of the rush… announcing it just hours before the hike is the right thing to do.
The ministers don’t have much choice (to keep the secret), but they can always choose to say “no comment” instead of saying anything to deny that… obviously they chose the denial that could backfire at themselves.
