Dear YeinJee, I see and understand your point of concern in relations to the topic of your post. Allow me to share my experiences. I author a blog about me, for my own reference and for my future generations. I then position this blog at various social networking portals for those interested to know me or to know me better. The comment section is closed entirely. A friend came and left for good, with a note to me at a social networking portal, "What is wrong with you?" He got fed up for not being allowed to place a comment at this blog. Another friend urges me to open up the comment section. Yet, for those who understand like you do, about the netizens, shall understand why individual like us closed this section. But friendship shall not be deprived at the expense of those who are irresponsible or aggressive. As I proceed blogging and positioning more blogs than one, like you I have also changed my perception. The blogs I author now are open totally for individual visitors and readers to comment. I find these comments as a useful feedback for my continual growth as a blogger, and some are encouraging as well as those that are inspiring. Of course, the spammers are taken cared of by Askimet. During this openness I have had one comment only that hit the very dot in my heart. In my wisdom I proceed knowing that the commenter did not understand fully the issue presented. A hit and run, so I can only reply above it. So I did. Visiting blogs whose authors include Mohamad Khir Toyo, Khairy Jamaluddin, Muhammad Muhd Taib, Muhammad Ali Rustam, Lim Kit Siang, Anwar Ibrahim, Nurul Izzah Anwar, and recently Mahathir Mohamad, I now understand how important it is for me to allow comments at my blogs - the irresponsible ones and the aggressive included. Above all, I have fixed The Top 10 Commenters widget at one of the blogs I author, that allows javascript. It has been a worthwhile experience blogging with such an openness to allow comments. I am still for total freedom within the bloggosphere. All the best to you, in making the country a better place, and I hope this bit of a sharing shall widen our existing perceptions.
