The Pudu Prison area is going to be transformed into a commercial hub by end of 2008.
While some foreigners are trying to save the 113-year-old complex, Malaysians don’t seem to care much about the demolition of our historic building.
Is historic buildings and heritage that worthless to Malaysians? I wonder…
will the vacants for on the new commercial hub witnesses japanese soldiers walking by, chopping of heads, hanged men floating, blood covered rooms or something like that?
these are current malaysia situation which has little appreciation towards heritage whereby commercialize and making money are the priorities which they dont think of convert pudu jail into something exclusive at the same time it has the market value….
it is kind of sad where a historical place is goin to be torn down and give way to commercialize………..
