I am tired of seeing all the political agendas from both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat for the past 100 days. General Election is over, and it’s time to let the government do their job.

Pakatan are talking as if all the Malaysians would like a new govenment, but fact is they are still the oppositions because half of the Malaysians were not voting in their favour. There are lots of calls for Badawi to step down, including from within Umno itself… but that doesn’t mean that these people would want a new government or to have Anwar as the new Prime Minister.

Anwar has been campaigning like crazy for the past three months in hope of becoming the new PM. I don’t want to question whether he is genuine in building Malaysia or more of a personal agenda… but what he did for the past 100 days are hampering the country’s stability. What is the use of a GE if the opposition would continue plotting to take over the government after an election?

Imagine if PR takes over the government with Anwar’s crossover talk being materialised; the PR government would only have a minor majority by then, and what would happen if the BN (as opposition) starting to plot their own crossover plans to take back the government instead? The country will be in a never-ending political turmoil… and that’s why, the results of the GE should be respected and never be exploited in any other ways, regardless of who is doing it.

The people have spoken, you all have spoken, and the BN continue to rules. So be it, and let them rule for another 4-5 years and show what they can do (or not)… we’ll settle the score again in the next election.

Besides, while having BN under the radar, do mind that the Pakatan Rakyat state governments are being watched too. They are given the chances to rule as well; instead of all the political agendas, how about focusing on showing what they can really do at governmental levels and win the next GE fair and square?

you are not the only person tired of anwar. in my office we talk about what anwar is doing as well… he might be a smart person, but he is showing his ‘fox-tail’ that all he cares is to take our the government by manipulating the lower income group and less educated.

the oil subsidy should not be put back, even dap leaders agree with the oil price although they suggest that badawi should go slow instead of 40% increase, but anwar is taking advantage and make it a huge issue and continue to raise hatred among some people towards bn government. what anwar doing is selfish and dangerous to the country. i don’t like him last time when he was mahathir assistant, and I don’t like him even more now.

Well written & thought provoking post on Malaysia’s current situation - to see 100 days has gone & it seems just like March 9 at times.

asks oneself, in the first place why do people talk about it?

there are talks about government changing hand is because bn is doing damage to malaysia, not because of pakatan or anwar is such greats. whether pakatan/anwar can deliver or not, people still would like to try. without changing the government there wont be any changes. and without any changes, things will get worse.

This is a very good point you made blogger. Kudos! If everyone on the net is as fair and open as you, the internet would be SUCH a better place. :D

We have to be wary of politics by certain individuals. These overenthusiastic and over ambitious leaders might just have every single trick up their sleeves to satisfy their own personal greed. Who is to say the new politicians will not turn out to be corrupt, money crazy and power greedy people?

once again, good post. all these talk about change, but can our country handle it? YeinJee highlighted a very real danger if we allow the present situation to not just simmer but brew completely outta hand. try to separate the sentiments from the reality here, look at the Italian parliament and how volatile it is, because of the razor-thin majority, is that what we want for our country? there’s a difference between “giving birth” to a stronger opposition and green-lighting a complete change of government. the former our country has done. and I agree that people would still like to try, well let them try, in the states that the PR currently rule, let’s see if they measure up. but leave the federal gov alone to do the job of running the country. criticisms are healthy, necessary even, but not plotting to over-throw the government. like YeinJee said here, they’ve had their chance, and in pointing out all the wrongs of the government has done, can they abide by the law too? and the basic principle of democracy, that we have elections to choose the governments we want, and we have chosen. now dun go around the back door and employ dirty tricks to “take over”. how can they then say that they rule with the ppl’s mandate?

ffad… it’s obvious that lots of people want change, I won’t deny that… but are you absolutely sure that majority of Malaysians would want to have Anwar as their next PM? Can you be absolutely sure that if a GE is held now, Pakatan Rakyat are assured of victory?

The answer is obviously NO. I am not saying that Anwar shouldn’t be the next PM, in fact I believe if a new election is to be held now, PR would probably win it handsomely… the only thing that I stressed here is that he has to win it fair and square, from a General Election. In a democratic country, it’s not the person who speak the loudest would mean, the votes count, and quite often silent majority rules.

darcwil… thanks for the compliment. Actually if everyone on the net is thinking as I am, it would be a really boring place lol. It’s a good thing to see different voices online, just that it would be great if there are more in depth thoughts… not necessary with ideas agreeing with mine, but at least some real thoughts and not just senseless and radical rants.

Thanks for the compliment as well Jeffrey, you pretty much sum up my points.

yeinjee…i agree, there is no guarantee that anwar will win..he might even lose more seats. is all depends on malaysians. but…

jeffrey chun…, there is a need to change. our current government cant be trusted for their promises to do that, so we elect another strong coliation that is pakatan. whether pakatan can win or not is all base on election result.

    ok.

be brave and try to change things. think of future generation (not u but ur sons and grandsons). this time is pakatan rakyat (malay, chinese, indian etc) vs bn (malay, chinese, indian etc), dont be chicken. if somehow tragic incident happens,..it is worth to sacrifice for future generations. history tell us that citizens need to sacrifice if they want to change. again…be brave and dont be chicken.

There is another question that we have to put in our everyday lives talks, speaks, thoughts or even our views.

What will happen to our future as well? Do we satisfy with what THEY did? Do we understand perfectly clear the order of bussines that lingers in our country? What will happen if only we talks about the weakness of others whereas we only talk a little about their greatness?

We often look into the matters and made assumption, our point of views and even worst wild accusation to what happen and judging everything that seems so perfect in our mist of our country. Why all of this happens? Why we always playing the Blame Game over and over again while our real enemies out there just clapping their hands waiting for us to fall apart.
Did we not know that our fore fathers who liberated this country have made a solemn vow to keep this country harmony, free from anything that will obstruct the Independence of this Nation?
I am sad of what happen to our country today. Many will mock these words or laugh with these saying or some will think that this is a free country but we must look back to history and think back what happen to other countries that is so free and so democratic. We must learn from our neighbours as well that freedom is not that easy and cheap.

I just don’t know what is the meaning of FREEDOM OF SPEECH and how we use it? Are we use it to make our world better or for our personal profitable reasons? There is lot for us to learn which is the shining truth or which is a broad daylight lie?
Every person in this web will give billoins of reasons to reasoning the situation but can anyone be reasonable with what happen to our everyday lives as we have been fool around and our trust slowly were torn away by many unworthy acts of politics. We as a peaople must make a new move to stop all of this nonsense and build back what is worth 49 years back.
Please give us back our sweet nice not so lives again.
