Lim Guan Eng, as the Chief Minister of Penang, should really start moving forward and show what he is capable of as a state leader, not as an opposition leader.

No point wasting too much time digging old fault of the previous government; the Penang folks knew how corrupted the previous government was… they might not know the details, but they were suspecting something huge.

Or else, does DAP think that they won the state in March because Penangties love them that much? People voted for Pakatan because they no longer have fate with BN, and Pakatan was their only option for making a change… and a change is what LGE and his state exco need to do.

What the people want to see is better governance and better quality of living… and digging old fault doesn’t help. What LGE needs to do is to be clean and transparent, improve infrastructures, create job opportunities and reduce cost of living.

The BN central government probably won’t help much to build the state… it won’t be easy for LGE obviously. But that’s what a political leader should do, to overcome difficulties and to find solutions… or else any Ah Beng could have become Chief Minister if it’s an easy job.

As credit due, LGE didn’t perform badly during his tenure for the last few months… but it certainly hasn’t been great yet. Show us what you got Lim Guan Eng, as a true leader, a government leader, and not just an opposition leader. Time to move forward.

Malaysia government has told the concert promoter for Canadian pop star Avril Lavigne to postpone her concert because her performance is not aligned with our independence day celebrations. [via Malaysianinsider and Reuters]

The decision echoed PAS Youth’s objection against the concert. Kamarulzaman Mohamed, a party youth official, said that Lavigne’s show was “considered too sexy for us” and would promote the wrong values just before Merdeka.”

PAS said something, and UMNO government agreed with it… how often did this happened in the past? Seems like the secret meeting a few weeks ago between the two parties is bearing some fruits.

Update - the ministry have changed their mind; the concert will go on.

Hopeless…

Malaysia’s future will be much brighter if the thousands of UiTM students are as enthusiastic in their studies as of their recent demonstrations to protest against Selangor MB Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim for his suggestion to open a 10% quota for non-bumi students.

I couldn’t care much about the 10% quota for non-bumi students… but thanks for showing how deep the Ketuanan Melayu mindset is still rooted even among some younger generations.

Fear not about having others eating your pie UiTM students… most are not interested to enter the institution anyway. The real thing that you should fear is finding jobs when graduated; you know how good (or bad) you are… and you can’t rely on the government forever.

Oooppsss… should have written this article in BM instead; I wonder how many UiTM students can understand this… whatever.

It’s been a hectic and bizarre week (or two) for Malaysians, with all the wild accusations flying here and there. Lots of Malaysians are fed up with all the politicking and scandals, and I felt kinda tired with the development as well.

Time for a bit of changes… no more political stuff here for the month of July (or longer perhaps). I will share something more casual and leisure about Malaysia instead. With so many social political blogs around these days, I guess my serious thoughts won’t be missed regardless.

Malaysia is beautiful, and I will try to show you that it still is.

Abdul Razak Baginda’s private investigator P Balasubramaniam retracted his statutory declaration which he made less than 24 hours ago, stating that he was compelled to affirm the said statutory declaration under duress. [Thestar]

I am speechless, really.

Razak Baginda’s former private investigator, P Balasubramaniam, has made a statutory declaration on July 1 regarding Altantuya’s murder case.

The details of the SD is available on Nat’s blog. To cut it short…

a. Balasubramaniam was hired by Abdul Razak Baginda (ARB) in October 2006 to deal with a threat calling him to pay his debts. He later identified that person as Ang (or ASP Tan), a private investigator employed by Mongolian woman Altantuya Shaaribuu.

b. Altantuya, identified herself as Aminah, claimed that she was there to see her boyfriend Abdul Razak Baginda. She (or Mr Ang) was demanding USD$500,000 commission owed to Aminah from a (submarine) deal in Paris.

Ever thought of Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan, the man who accused Anwar of sodomy, might actually be a victim?

When Anwar was accused in the 90s, I believe he was framed; and despite my dispute over the recent accusation, I still believe that Anwar did not do it.

However, does that mean that we are absolutely sure that Mohd Saiful is not sodomised by Anwar? Is there no chances, not even 1% of chances that Mohd Saiful is telling the truth? I wonder.
