Korean music video of Acquaintance (주변인) by rapper Outsider. The song itself is just ok, but the rapping is freaking cool [video via Amfandre1@Youtube]…
If you think some of the Korean artists are too young for entertainment world, you should check this out… Japanese female pop group Berryz Koubou are celebrating their sixth anniversary today, and their average age is just over seventeen.
The girls released their first single I Can’t Live Without You in 2004 (MV below). They held their first solo concert in 2007 at Saitama Super Arena with a full house crowd of around 20,000. [Video via Leeaceno1@Youtube]…
Berryz Koubou are not the only super-young-teenage-idols in Japan; it’s a norm for Japanese idols to debut at very young age since early 90s. Koreans are merely following the path in this sense… good or bad, it’s becoming a trend these days.
On side note, today is Hina Matsuri, Japanese girls’ day. Not sure at all, but the girls might have debuted purposely on this day six years ago.
A photo of Chinese actress Vicki Zhao, apparently pregnant, is spreading online like wildfire recently.
The star has been rumoured for a few months (most notably this) to have tied the knot with a Singaporean tycoon last August and is currently pregnant for seven months
This photo looks suspicious though. I’m guessing that it was from some film shooting instead of real life; she’s probably holding a script there.
Zhao has never responded officially to the rumours, but there’s the fact that she has not made any public appearance since late 2009, even missing out on the promo events for movie 14 Blades which premiered last month.
There’s also another rumour that she is indeed married but unfortunately dumped in just months… in which her manager has responded as absolutely ridiculous.
Korean pop group Wonder Girls are launching their own cosmetic line WG with Wonder Girls. Some promotional pics have been released/leaked online recently, featuring new member Hae-rim in replacement of Sun Mi who leaves the group.
This should be the first photoset of Wonder Girls with the new member (bottom right on first pic). Also embedded a BTS video at the end of the post…

Some videos asking some Korean and international stars about what “Seoul is…” to them. The interviews are at least a few months old and most were probably scripted; featured celebs (according to sequence) are Rain, Daniel Henney, Hugh Jackman, Ruby Lin (Taiwan), Girls’ Generation, TVXQ and Super Junior…
Having a ‘fat little baby’ is a good thing from Chinese perspective, but a family in China’s Shanxi Province is having serious problem with their overweight baby girl.
The two-year-old is weighed at 41.5 kg, which is three to four times heavier than average baby her age. She doesn’t look THAT heavy from the photo; but she’s obviously huge, and there’s worrying signs on her twisted feet.
The reason for her obesity is unknown yet, but there’s probably some health issue (hormone etc.) involved. Hope she’ll get normal soon with proper help.
[Archive] Check out a 2007 story of another super obese Chinese baby.
50th day in Seoul (hope I’m counting it right lol). A pictureless update.
Took a cab a couple of days ago. The taxi driver was a 61-year-old man who could speak some English; and he’s obviously excited for the chance to test his skills with an English speaking foreigner lol.
South Korea, like Japan, is an ‘aging’ country with low birth rate but significant number of retirements every year. Culturally the senior citizens would pick up some hobbies; trekking seems like the #1 favourite as Korea is quite mountainous, and there’s plenty of nice and safe tracks within Seoul itself.
The taxi driver I met is following another path though; he is taking English lessons and going back to university instead… at age 61… how cool is that? His charming smile will last in my memory for a long while, with admiration and respect.
An interesting age chart of members from various Korean pop groups (and a few individuals). Most of them are in early 20s or late teens; a few of them have just graduated from high school recently; while some are still minors.

Chart below, sorted by year of birth (red = eldest in group, blue = youngest)…
