63rd day in Korea. I’ve met countless people from all walks of life from different parts of the globe, coming and leaving at my residing hostel on regular basis.
There’s always a slight sense of loneliness after bidding farewell to those whom I’ve had good chats with, knowing the fact that it’s probably the last time I’ll be seeing their faces despite all the keep-in-touch promises.
Photo above was taken at the War Memorial of Korea; it’s the Statue of Brothers which tells the story of families and relatives that are being separated apart by the Korean War in 1950s which divided the country into the North and the South.
Immediate below is Gyeongbukgung Palace and Changdeukgung Palace. Planned to write a detailed story for most of these places, but have been procrastinating for way too long. So, just a sneak peek instead at the moment…
Namsan Park during a snowy day in February…
Cultural show at Namsanguk Hanok Village during Korean New Year…
Random street food…
Cheonggyecheon Plaza; the starting point of a narrow recreational ‘park’ which stretched for 6 km along the Cheonggyecheon stream. There’s a mini-exhibition there when the photo was taken; the flags shown are countries which had participated during the 1950’s Korean War…
And here’s a photo of Cheonggyecheon…
Had a rather simple yet unique experience on Monday (Mar 15)… an air raid siren in Seoul. Apparently it happens every few months as a drill, where the civilians are supposed to run into hiding asap, with traffic on the road being halted etc.
