South Korea’s Gangwon Province was blanketed by more than a meter of snow earlier this week, the heaviest snowfall in the northeastern province in a century.

The record snowfall, which begun Friday (ended in Monday if not mistaken), has damaged hundreds of houses and caused at least one fatality. Beautiful, yet troublesome and deadly at the same time. Image via Chinanews [Cn].

Wow amazing, I know they don’t get alot of snow in Korea when my Korean sister came here when she was kid and we had snow she was amazed she had never seen it.
AFAIK the northeast region is always snowy in the winter, it’s a famous place for winter sports. Other places snowed sparingly, the southern part rarely.
