Barbadian R&B star Rihanna has promised to cover up for her Kuala Lumpur concert on February 13th to adhere to the Malaysian on-stage dress code, of which a female performer must be covered from shoulders to knees.

Taking lesson from last year’s Avril Lavigne’s concert which was almost cancelled because her show was deemed too sexy, the organiser of Rihanna’s concert is fast to act on the issue before any conservative protest could heat up.
Rihanna’s KL concert, which is part of the Good Girl Gone Bad world tour, will be held at Putra Stadium, Bukit Jalil, on Feb 13. Refer to the above poster for ticketing details.
[Update] The concert is postponed indefinitely following reports that she was assaulted by her boyfriend Chris Brown.

malaysian authority should loose up a bit lah, if not all superstars come singapore we win lol.
i just wondering>>> why our own local artist are allowed be more sexy ??? take a look at our own artist 1st before judging international artist
malaysia authorities have issues..
mere hippocrits.shame on you
Appropriate dress code is necessary – why do malaysians want to support international singers coming in bare and inappropriately dressed? a singer comes into a foreign country to make more money (by haveing concerts) so they should abide by the country’s rules and show respect. We don’t need more young women dressing up inappropriately, it’s not freedom it’s westernisation!
Zaida… asking the performers to dress properly is different then banning them altogether like what some groups are requesting in the past year or two. I’m not totally against a reasonable dress code to fit our culture, and most of the foreign artists did abide to the rules.
Westernisation? I don’t care if the artists are from the west or the east or even our locals… people should be allow to make their own choices (to go to the concerts or not) and not having someone else playing guardians to these matters… THAT’s freedom.
I think it’s important for everyone to honor the values held high by the locals. Remember the case of that old western creep kissing Shilpa Shetty in India? Or the demonstration against swimsuit photo shoot in Buddhist’s holy sites in Thailand? Any German would be furious if they someone wear the nazi symbol on stage. How would a Chinese feels if someone wears the face of Mao Zedung on his @$$?
Anyway, it’s not like they are forced to wear hijab up to their face or something. It’s just a simple compromising.
