Beast – Good Luck music video
Korean music video for Good Luck by pop group Beast, title track of their sixth mini album which was released in June 2014. Haven’t paid much attention to K-pop lately, this song caught my attention though, love the beat; and I like the fact that most songs are co-written by one of its members.
It’s good to see a K-pop group that actually makes music. Don’t get me wrong, appearance is a huge part of K-pop music culture, often more important than talent, and I’m hooked with that too. Just that it’s refreshing to see some real “artists” in the industry, which is unfortunately rare/unappreciated in K-pop.
Lululu – Beautiful World music video
Japanese MV for Beautiful World, a country song by indie band Lululu [Jp].
Orange Caramel – My Copycat MV
Korean music video for My Copycat, the fourth single by pop group Orange Caramel. A fun song, and props (to Digipedi Studio) for doing something something different in an MV – besides the wacky concept, they also integrated a few mini games in the video (prizes will be given to a number of winners).
EXILE – New Horizon music video
Japanese music video for New Horizon, released in July 2014 by EXILE, a popular Japanese pop group. Just an OK song, the video is beautiful though.
The boy band was formed in 2001. About half of the 19 members are in their 30’s (the eldest is 45), but the group will continue to bring in new blood to keep them running like a franchise, which is common in J-pop.
Nogizaka46 – Natsu no Free & Easy PV
Japanese music video for Natsu no Free & Easy, the ninth single by pop group Nogizaka46, released July 9, 2014. It’s the month’s best seller thus far.
This is also the first Nogizaka46 single featuring popular idol Rena Matsui, who joins the team as a concurrent member from sister group SKE48.
