Yellow dust storm strikes Beijing
Beijing was struck by a heavy yellow dust storm on Saturday. The dust/sand was carried by strong wind from the deserts in northeast of China into the eastern regions, sometimes affecting neighbouring Korea and Japan too. The phenomenon happens seasonally every year, and Beijing is often the most heavily hit.
Tokyo is world’s most expensive city (2009)
Tokyo has knocked Moscow off the top spot as the world’s most expensive city for expatriates, according to the latest Cost of Living Survey by human resource consulting firm Mercer. The later topped the list for the previous three editions.
Currency fluctuation is the major factor for the ups and downs – London, Seoul, and Sydney etc. are dropped significantly because of weakened currency.

Jackie Chan to hold concert at Bird’s Nest
International Chinese star Jackie Chan is going to hold a charity concert at Beijing National Stadium, the main Beijing Olympic venue which is popularly known as the Bird’s Nest.
Jackie and the concert promoter held a press conference on April 1st to announce the news; the concert is scheduled to run on May 1st and would be the first major non-sport event to be held at the stadium.
Themed as “Descendant of the Dragon: Jackie Chan and Friends”, it’s expected that a few big names will be invited for the concert, with Jackie Chan taking the lead.
