A Transfomers lookalike TV commercial by Taiwan’s Recruitment Center of National Armed Force. Thought that it was a prank at first glance, but it’s real, and the video could be found from its official website [Cn]…

I think the recruitment would fare better if they feature Megan Fox instead lol.

Video game developer Square Enix has released a seven-minutes long Japanese trailer for Final Fantasy XIII at the Tokyo Game Show 2009…

The Final Fantasy console game series was revolutionary in the 80s and 90s, popularising the role-playing-game (RPG) genre with its well written plots and high quality visuals & soundtracks.

Not sure if the game will appeal to younger generation these days; but for RPG gamers who grew up in that era, it’s a highly anticipated game for sure.

FFXIII will be released in Japan in December 2009 on PS3. Xbox and international versions estimated to be available in spring 2010.

Japanese trailer for animated series “Cat Shit One”, based on the same title manga series (known as “Apocalypse Meow” in USA) by Motofumi Kobayashi.

The original manga is about three American soldiers (the bunnies) in operation during the Vietnamese war, but in the series the battleground has shifted into Middle East where the bunnies are tyring to rescue hostages held by some guerillas (the camels)…

The concept… these days people are too used to seeing people dying in movies, and the producers hoped that the use of cute and fluffy animals as characters could give viewers a stronger feeling of the misery of the wars [via Patrickmacias]

While admiring their intentions, I wonder if their objective could work… as I find the trailer so cute and hilarious. I couldn’t stop myself laughing when the bunny began to talk, and I feel so bad because it should be a serious war series (or is it?)

Cat Shit One is scheduled to release in 2010 as a 12-episode mini-series.

Malay movie trailer of “Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula” (lit. Gang: Adventures Begin), Malaysia’s 1st 3D animated film which began screening on February 12th…

Got a tip from reader CL about the film; haven’t watch it, but the trailer seems promising… can’t say anything about the content, the artwork itself is surprisingly good though. Probably not Hollywood material yet, but it’s a giant leap for the country’s animation industry which was in its infant stage.

Kudos to Les’ Copaque Production and the crew, keep it up.

Chinese subbed Japanese music video of “I ♥ TOFU” by pop duo Kame and LNK, released in the same title single in December 2008. A fun song, singing praise to the goodness of bean curds (tofu); one of the cutest music videos I’ve seen…

Hayao Miyazaki’s animated film “Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea” is Japan’s highest grossing domestic movie in 2008, while “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” tops the international list.

A cute stop-motion animation, “Sweet Dreams” by Kirsten Lepore. It’s about the adventure of a cupcake; there’s a nice moral behind the story… cool stuff but not entirely safe for kids lol [via Neatorama]
