Japanese trailer for animated series “Cat Shit One”, based on the same title manga series (known as “Apocalypse Meow” in USA) by Motofumi Kobayashi.

The original manga is about three American soldiers (the bunnies) in operation during the Vietnamese war, but in the series the battleground has shifted into Middle East where the bunnies are tyring to rescue hostages held by some guerillas (the camels)…

The concept… these days people are too used to seeing people dying in movies, and the producers hoped that the use of cute and fluffy animals as characters could give viewers a stronger feeling of the misery of the wars [via Patrickmacias]

While admiring their intentions, I wonder if their objective could work… as I find the trailer so cute and hilarious. I couldn’t stop myself laughing when the bunny began to talk, and I feel so bad because it should be a serious war series (or is it?)

Cat Shit One is scheduled to release in 2010 as a 12-episode mini-series.

Tata Nano, cheapest car in the worldIndia’s Tata Motors announced on Monday (Mar 23) the commercial launch of Tata Nano, the world’s cheapest car at 100,000 rupees (USD1,990) apiece.

Nano created huge buzz worldwide when it was unveiled in January 2008; the car is in hot demand in India where it’ll hit the roads in July 2009.

The demand for the car is so high that the company has to make a lucky draw to decide their first 100,000 customers for the first phase of deliveries. A dedicated assembly plant will be ready in 2010 with an annualised capacity of 350,000 cars.

There are reasons why Tata Nano is so cheap; but as it’s often stressed, the Nano’s main aim is to provide safe, affordable, four-wheel transportation to families… and we can’t argue that a car would be much safer than a bike.

Some environmentalists are not that fond of the car, as more cars = more pollution. Tata has responded to the issue that an electric version of Nano is in mind, which has sprung wide interest in western countries.

Btw, the car might lack certain comfortability features, but it’s not lacking in design… that’s one cute car that I don’t mind owning based on appearance alone.

A giant panda high up at the Beijing Zoo in China…

Many people don’t know that giant pandas are good climbers; I’m rather amazed though, that the tiny tree branches could support the panda’s weight.

Chinese subbed Japanese music video of “I ♥ TOFU” by pop duo Kame and LNK, released in the same title single in December 2008. A fun song, singing praise to the goodness of bean curds (tofu); one of the cutest music videos I’ve seen…

Korea’s major school uniform makers have agreed to end all celebrity endorsements indefinitely before the new school term begins in March; the cost cutting decision was made following government’s demand to halt the rising prices of school uniforms.

It’s a good call from the government and manufacturers, but some fans might mourn that they won’t be seeing their favourite idols in cute uniforms in near future. Sharing here some star-studded Korean school uniform commercials to ease their pain lol…
